I have seen some in ceiling speakers from Linn which look like they are going to do a good job of producting audio. I'm going to use one pair in the bathroom and one pair in the kitchen. They require a two channel amplifier each, ideally I'd like to mount the amp in the loft space too so a unit which is switch on and forget would be ideal.
Any suggestions, will only need to be around 35w-ish.

What Linn speakers are you talking about?

Linn themselves do asimple thig called a room amp that is designed to screw on to wood joists or MDF etc. Alternatively I like to se good quality s/h integrateds or power maps for this sort of application. A nice s/h Arcam P8 power amp could be ideal.

FYI we have a unit coming at Arcam in the next few weeks which might suit your needs, based on the new A80 integrated. It includes signal sensing so consumes very little power unless you actually send it music.

It is called the P80 (we have always been imaginative with our product naming!) and will retail for around £420. Output power is 65 WPC.

    HTH,

See the sweetspot or the diskreet. Details are at:-

    http://www.linn.co.uk/spec_sound/products.cfm?range=loudspeaker

    scroll down to the bottom.

I've been thinking about this some more. I'm going to need an amp which has remote controlled volume also, or somehow connect it into a volume control panel on the wall.

thanks for your help guys, its appreciated
