Absolutely fantastic. The brightest star in the cinema sky. This superbly compelling film, if I am being honest, did not captivate my attention from its trailer. However, like most films I went in with a fresh head and gave it a chance, and thankful that I did.
The film looks into the life of a fairly young Irish family, who recently lost their only son. When the family move to America they wind up scraping together enough money to pay the board in a drug ridden house of addicts. Inspired by the bravery of the children in coming to terms with this dreadful loss, the family grows closer together and is taught to love again by an unsuspecting neighbour.
All in all the film is a terrific piece of cinema, well told and with enough plot lines to keep it going. The film may not suit everybody, but if its weeping with sorrow and joy you're after I couldn't recommend a better film.

    9/10

Yet another film about the irish leaving home and their sturggle to to get by in america.

I'm personally sick of seeing them. I'm Irish ( maybe you are) and i'm fed up of seeing us typecast

i have to say that I disagree with you there. I can understand your opinion having seen a few similar films. However, I assure you that this film is different. The emotional content and the solid storyline is enough to make this stand out from the crowd. I can assure you that this really is the brightest jewel in the crown.

Different... Irish couple come to america, they struggle ....they lose a child, a happy ending- Angela's Ashes

Read the reviews and its been panned. Though i can make up my own mind-it just makes me:rolleyes: When i hear stuff like "the movie lacks conviction from implausible beginning to sentimental end."

The only good irish themed films that have ever been made, are those without the sentimental bull that often runs through such films.

Well i cant watch a film on one the basis of one guy giving it a 9/10. I'm sick to the back teeth of down on their luck irish people leaving home and making it.

A rich african black women living in hells kitchen!!!
