‘Impulse’ Doug Liman Action Drama Pilot Picked Up To Series By YouTube Red

Written by Jeffrey Lieber (Lost, NCIS: New Orleans), Jason Horwitch (Marvel’s Luke Cage), and Gary Spinelli from a story by Lieber, and directed by Liman (Bourne Identity),Impulse is based on the third novel in the Jumper series by Steven Gould. It features a rebellious 16-year-old girl, Henry (Maddie Hasson) who has always felt different from her peers and has longed to escape from her seemingly quaint small town. She soon discovers she has the extraordinary ability to teleport.

Rounding out the cast of the series are Missi Pyle, Sarah Desjardins, Enuka Okuma and Craig Arnold. David James Elliott is set to recur.

'Impulse' Review: A Very Worthy YA Series That Has Nothing To Do With That 'Jumper' Movie
The first and most important thing to know about Impulseis it has nothing to do with the 2008 film that shares its source material. Despite being directed and executive produced by Doug Liman, the series has no connection to what’s come before. The only thing the two share in common is the superpower they portray. Even the way they portray it has been drastically altered.

'Impulse': TV Review
YouTube Red's new series is part of the 'Jumper' family, but it's driven by a very strong lead performance from Maddie Hasson that makes it more of a character drama about sexual assault than a YA thriller.

Is Impulse (or any other YouTube Red Originals) available in 4K?

the 1st 3 episodes are available to watch for free.

7 episodes in, the paced is rather slow since it depends on how Henry as a teenager handles her accidents :boring:

completed, not really enjoying the series because of it's slow paced but will like to followup what happens if it is renewed for a 2nd season :boring:

season 2 with 7 episodes in, entertaining  who will survive this season - Elaine, Nikolai or Henry :D
most of the teleporters (discovered & captured) were dead through his sister experiments, he seems determined to save Henry by training her hoping she could survive the impending experiment

Saw ep 1 and forgot how she can royally piss me off with her self involved personality.
Definitely need to be in a mood of just switch off brain and try not to fixate on her black caterpillar eyebrows.

I have the same problem with anything with Carla Delevergine

season 2 completed, really enjoyed  will be delighted for a 3rd season :D

pretty unaffected, since only interested in the series :p
The eyebrows was kinda a joke but her self-involved bad attitude gets me. Her paralyzing the guy last season and that not being enough for her etc. was way over the top; when he didn't actually do what she was holding him accountable for and he had no memory. She carries far too much spite about with her as justification for being a royal bitch. She's just generally unlikable with brief moments of being OK but then reverts to form.

Clay wanted to forcefully do it (digital penetration), but during the strong vibration caused by Henry he was somehow strongly pushed away from her else his hand or fingers will be torn & teleported with Henry. It happened too sudden, he was shocked & confused also unable to accept that as rape & maybe felt rejected. In season 2, he
still refuse to acknowledge .... seems like he will give his pov in season 3
Henry didn't purposely to hurt him so badly ( afterall, Clay is her boyfriend) , she very raw with her power no mentor to guide, it just came suddenly whenever she was emotionally unstable which she had no chance to understand not until season 2

If she'd tried it on with him and stuck her hand down his shorts and he started to get off as she did but then said no or stop and she'd carried on for 5-10 seconds more would she of deserved prison, or even got it, or, as in this case paralysis which he could of said wasn't enough? We see plenty of instances where a woman goes too far and a man is forced to push her away but they don't get busted. Just because a man may have the strength to push a woman off doesn't make it OK but society and/or viewers don't cry sexual assault, lock her up.
They both wanted it at first and Henry was enjoying things which Clay responded to as positive but then in her reality she started to not and Clay did proceed too long and then things went sideways quick. Later we saw both their memories on it. Clay's recall was quite different. He asked the former girlfriend if he'd tried to force her as Henry's claim messed him up with a sense of doubt and horror at the thought and such and she said no. Henry may not of intended what happened when she freaked but she sure as hell felt justified wanting worse for him later and was downright brutal to Clay at every opportunity thereafter and thinking she wanted prison too. which seemed like even that and paralysis wouldn't be enough. She then seriously considered letting him burn to death. He became her whipping boy to beat up on for all the crap that was going on in her head.
Did he go too far, maybe. Did he insert or rape her, no. Was a lifetime of paralysis with no sensory feeling or control at waist level enough, over a he said she said in which even if found guilty he'd of got a couple of years or less?
