Hie, I have a Sony 32LS60 TV and plan to purchase a new DVD player. I've been reading in the forums that the Toshiba 520E is a popular DVD player becoz' of its progressive scan capabilities at a reasonable price. However, I realise that to benefit from a progressive scan output, eg from a progressive scan DVD player, my TV must be HD ready or be able to receive a 480p video source. If I'm not mistaken, I think my Sony TV is merely an analog TV - hence, it will not be able to accept the digital output. Is this correct? I'm still very naive about the whole progressive scan thing. So, would it be better if I saved my money and go for a cheaper DVD player with the basic functions? Also, since I've read that Pioneer DVD players have problems with the LS60 models, it rules out alot of DVD players in mind and now I'm having problems deciding which 'brand' to go for. Thanks!
