    Those of you that have ordered SVS subs, do you have to do anything in advance.
    Ie. taking care of airport duties and taxes?
    Or do I just order it and hope for the best?

    When I am old and rich and can afford to build a house with a bar, these will be the bar stools. :)

    Liam doesn't do impulse but a weekend at Chez J will have him rushing back to join the club.

    Apparently they're swamped at SV this week. Probably all the orders from this forum.
    They need to do extensive testing on 220V units so my sub will ship next week I've been told.
    It'll be agony waiting!

    I guess they are working on the PB2 subs.
    Do anyone know the PB4? With 4 ultra woofers inside it!!!!
    It's like having 4 CS ultras!!!

    PS I suggest that you use the door2door delivery method.

    Tan. the PB4 does not have 4 Ultra drivers- it has four of the TV-12 driver (the ones in the PC Plus range)

    When I ordered my 20-39 PC+ last year the Shipping was around £124 and Vat/Customs was around £200 if I remember correctly. The shipping is cheaper if you pick it up at the airport but I chose the door to door option.

    just tryed to work the cost of the pc+ i ordered.....looks like...the sub= $825...shipping = $135 = approx £682.60.
    4.5% import duty = £30.71
    VAT @ 17.5% = £124.83

    TOTAL = £838.14
    Blimeyyyy...this is getting dearer everytime i think about it.

    No ang on...got that wrong.....
    sub = $825, shipping (door to door)= $135 = approx £586.19.
    import duty = £26.37.
    VAT = £107.20

    TOTAL = £719.80 approx.

    That looks better.
    thats if they convet the dollar at $1.637 to the £.

    Now I've ordered my SVS I sold My M70AS yesterday to go towards the bill.
    I've obviously got no choice now but to route all lfe to my fronts.
    I just tested it with Attack of the clones and it seems like I've got more bass using my M74i floorstanders than I did with the sub. Just had a little flapping when the space crafts fly over in the opening scene.
    I did'nt realize how good these speakers are!:clap:
    Just made me realize how cheap that sub must be and I think this new SVS could change my life (and possibly the neighbours!:mad:)

    :laugh:

    I have just checked my credit card statement and have been billed £597 for the purchase of my SVS 20-39 PC Plus including shipping to my home.

    I expect to receive another bill from someone for import duty at 4.5% and Vat at 17.5% which will bring the total costs to £733

    If the reviews are to be believed this sub is untouchable for the money and as Orbital only lives down the road from me he will be ideally placed to compare his Servo 15 with the Tower of Power

    I phoned BaxGlobal today to see when I should get my sub.
    It was due to land this morning (thu) they should then pick it up from Heathrow tomorrow (Fri) clearing it through customs and paying my bill. Then take it to Bournmouth and delivery it to me the next working day, Which is MONDAY!:(
    I can't take the waiting, my wife and daughter have gone away for the weekend and I need my new toy!
    I asked if I could intercept it at the airport myself, but they said its consigned to the Bournmouth office now.
    Oh well. I'll just have to try and be patient. Not one of my strong points you may have guessed.:suicide:

    That's a comparison I'd very much like to hear the results of. And see if you can find someone with a Velodyne CHT-15 to join in....

    It just occured to me that you shouldn't have to pay import duty or VAT on the delivery charge, should you?

    You do!

    As you wouldn't be able to get the item without delivery charges they are included in the cost of the item.

    What I don't like is the odd £10 or few % you get charged for the carrier collecting the duty. I'm not against the companies charging.
    I resent having to pay a fee for the government to collect tax off me.

    Life is frustrating and so is the ability to track shipments online. I can see that the "Tower of Power" is sitting at Birmingham Airport which is just a 20 minute drive down the M42. No doubt it will sit there all day whilst papers are shuffled and the tape is reddened and today being Friday I shall have to be subless for a few more days.

    Right now I'm sat around the house, bored.
    So I just phoned Bax Bournemouth to see if I can go and collect my sub from them today.
    They said yes I would be able to do that, BUT, customs computers are down at the moment and apparently have been all week! Can't release anything without customs clearance!
    I've been told to phone back later. If I'm lucky I'll get my tower of power today, otherwise I'll just wait for it to land on my door step next week.

    Well......about 5 mins after putting my last post on here, i disconnected from the net and found i had a message to ring bax global.

    They wanted my VAT number, which of course, i have not got one..........anyway, he told me that i would have to pay, import duty and VAT, but said nothing about a fee from bax for sorting the import out......he said:

    "You will only have to pay import duty and vat, but that is it, because you have paid to have it delivered to your door."

    I should of took his name, then i could of said,[whats his name] only told me i had to pay for import and vat....he said nothing about bax fee................I wonder if i would get away with it.

    They are delivering it on Tuesday...that was the earliest they had.

    I would of gone and picked it up, but i dont know where the local warehouse is and i did not reconise the phone code.....i had to ring a 01293 number..aint got a clue where that is.
