It looks ever-so-slightly possible. Looking on the websites of our european cousins who're authorised paradigm dealers, it looks as though there's a few selling Servo 15s. The website with the most potential was a polish one.

My Polish translator (Dom), wasn't online in the mid hours of the morning, so I'll have to get hold of him to read the website and tell me what the hell it says. But's it's something I'll continue to look into, and will keep the forums posted if it turns out to be worthwhile (although, somehow, I doubt it...).

    Dimmy :)

    Dimmy,

Have you found any more out about importing these, as I'm after a second one for my room, which is now 3 times bigger than before.

I'd be interested. What sort of price are we looking at do you think?

The official Polish importer of Paradigm products is Polpak Poland Sp and their website page giving details of the Servo 15 is here

I would imagine that any importer / distributor will have signed an agreement limiting them to that country only and therefore it is highly doubtful whether the Polish distributor would be allowed to sell to UK where there is already a Paradigm distributor even if it was economically viable.

The Servo 15 sells in USA for around $1,500 and I would guess that if it came into this country by any other route other than Richer Sounds, people would be looking to pay the usual US / UK conversion rate of 1:1 and they would therefore cost around £1,500

A couple of Servo 15 owners have listened to my 20-39 PC Plus and they both thought that they were fairly similar in depth, output and low distortion levels.

Just a thought, have you considered this option:

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=122284

You could sell your existing Servo 15 and buy the above for the same sort of outlay as buying another Servo 15, which are like hens teeth.

I used to have a pair of Servo 15's and replaced them with a custom built sub based on a pair of 15" drivers from Adire Audio (http://www.adireaudio.com/diy_audio/drivers/adire/tempest.htm)
which were much better in terms of sound quality. The Tempest has a displacement of around 2.5l so my sub had a displacement of around 5l.

The PB2 plus uses a pair of 12" drivers which are rumoured to have a similar displacement to the Tempest so it should have a displacement of around 5l. This will give you some serious bass. In addition the driver used in the PB2 plus has very low distortion (better than the Tempest) and should sound very good, I've only heard their entry level driver and in terms of sound quality, was very impressed.

If I were in the market for a commercial subwoofer, even if Servo 15's were widely available, I would certainly give some consideration to the PB2 plus at the current exchange rate.

    GaryG-
I have had a look at the link, It looks like a DIy sub, I will have to reasearch a bit more. Will it still reach the really low levels of the servo 15?

dbanugo- Richers no longer supply servo's.

Ian J- will the 20-39 PC (or2 for that matter) Plus fill a 32ft by 28ft open plan living space?

I was referring to the SVS PB2 Plus that smurfin has on order, I would expect it to have simlar performance to a pair of Servo 15's. I only mentioned the Tempest as a point of reference.

I very much doubt it and would think that any sub would have difficulties pressurizing a room that large.

The best person to ask is Tom Vodhanel so email him at tomv@svsubwoofers.com
