Can anyone tell me a place where I can get this game quickly apart from Liksang.com?

Also I would like to get it as cheap as possible....if this is at all possible....

    Cheers,

    EmissarY.

You do relise there's already a RE4 thread started. On this page infact. Might want to do a search bnefore starting new threads. When everyone starts new threads, old ones are impossible to find. Anyway, I'm not sure if quick and cheap go together in this case. i.e. you can get the game more quickly if you pay for 3 day shipping. Extra £10 on the price. For cheaper alternatives, try www.dvdboxoffice.com or www.dvdsoon.com. Both roughly £30 del, (or less). www.videogameplus.co.uk are also pretty quick, if slightly more expensive.

www.videogamesplus.com best place. little to no chance of vat.

www.gamestop.com for the special edition in tin case. Costs more and you''re more likely to get VAT

Considering importing the impressions of this game have been virtually flawless. Never quite heard of naything like this.

Don't order from dvdsoon. I preordered 2 months early, and yet 2 days after release and they are still 'packaging'. Should ship today, but still, Play.com always ship pre-orders so that you get the game on, or in some case, before the official release day. :(

But Play won't have the game until it gets released over here, which is April IIRC. Mine had been preordered with DVDBO for about 7 months, and was shipped on Wednesday.

You're lucky, mine still shows as 'On Order' along with a copy of Bourne Spremacy which has gone from 'In Transit' to 'On Order' and back to 'In Transit' again. Anyone know where they got the Soon part of their name from?

Whoohooo! RE4 has landed! This morning with a big thump on the ground! lol Luckily it was packaged well and everything is intact! :)

It comes on two discs, first thing i did was power up me PAL cube and stick in Action Replay - it includes Freeloader - so wenthro the usual rigmarole, bung in RE4 and waited... a few secs later, RE4 started! Played it to the 1st save point and glad to report that its all working, no problems running at all.

Action Replay i used was version 1.08, about a year old or so i believe, thought maybe i needed to upgrade but i don't now.

What you lot waiting for, import this game now! :p

Are the colors fine? Cuz I heard pal 60hz is better than NTSC.

I´m about to do the same as you but I`m not sure it will look good.

    My tv supports pal 60hz.

Yeah the colors are crisp, i'm running it via Nintendo RGB cable and it extremely sharp and solid - PAL is better as it has more lines of resolution, i believe i'm running it PAL 60hz as it is PAL machine anyway - but i could be wrong - as for NTSC i never had any problems with the output of it, runs at full screen, full speed as intended.

If you have a tv that isnt NTSC compatible, by using a fully wired RGB/SCART cable it will run fine, if not it will flicker and be black and white all over the place.

Right, time for some RE4 actions methinks! :p

So at some point you have to take the first disc out and put in the second? This is almost as stupid as the old flipper dvds.

It takes about 15 seconds to swap discs...hardly significant compared to the 20 hours+ of gameplay

What I mean is the short sightedness of the design. I don't have a GC myself but am aware that the discs are smaller - I assumed that they went proprietary as they had no intention of offering DVD support. But to design a system where the disc was too small to hold a game just seems strange. However, I don't wish to appear all fanboy like so ignore my earlier post.

The Gamecube uses mini-dvds which can hold about 1.5Gb and for most games I am sure this is more than enough but I guess a few games like Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid contain too much info to store on a single disc so the info is spread over two.

It's not as if only the Cube needs to change disks. There were loads of PS1 games that came on more than 1, and I believe there are PS2 ones as well (don't know about the Xbox).

Hmmm this is my most anticipated game of the year when it gets a PS2 release later this year, be interesting if it is a direct port of the GC version or will it be slightly different. Can't wait..

They seem a bit pricey what with you having to pay $10-13 for delivery. Still, if you buy 2+ games a time it's probably worth it. Seem to be quicker to deliver than say dvdsoon or dvdboxoffice. So if you want games asap, they seem a good company to go with. What are their packages like for getting past custums?

I generally use Soon or Box which have never been caught. Have got RE4 on it's way from Soon for £28 with free del, (though I think they have stopped free del now). Very slow to ship, and have yet to reply to my email to explain why. It was shipped 2/3 days after the release date. I'd pre-ordered the game 2+ months before release date also. If they'd just replied to say that due to the volume of orders for RE4 worldwide, it would take a few days for all orders to be posted then at least you'd have known what was going on.

ok, 10 - 13.00 for delivery seems expensive however i know which i'd rather have.
i think i'd prefer my game in 2days rather than waiting weeks.
30 - 32.00 inc delivery to get a game months before its released here seems a pretty good price to me.

Well i dont think nintendo would agree with the stupid comment as the gamecube has still not been properly cracked, theres still no easy in-exspensive way to play gamecube copies so i think they would be very pleased with the decision

that is considering the PS2 and XBOX were cracked within weeks of release

Nintendo did do a good job on preventing the Gamecube from being hacked but in the end it was only a matter of time before a chip was created, you can get one now which will allow you to run backups on mini-dvdrs but its still not 100% but considering how long it has taken compared to the PS2 and xbox I think Nintendo should be very pleased.

Hi, got my Resident Evil 4 yesterday. My copy came from DVDBoxoffice. I played it on my Plasma using progressive scan and the graphics are really amazing. So far it is one of the best single player console games I've played in a while.

Had a Halo 2 session tonight so I'll get back into it tomorrow.
