Just been looking at the Indy Trilogy thread in Special offers (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83253), and the topic of Import duty popped up.

Why is it we get charged for films over £18, yet we don't get charged for games??

Has anyone used DVDBoxOffice for their films, as I use this for games and never get charged (touch wood)!

On a different note... does anyone know where I can get the Natural Born Killers Box Set online without having to create an account. I use play.com for all my films but they don't have this version.

    Thanks/...

We do get charged for games. You have either been lucky or used people who mark the game up as less than £18

As stated above, I use DVD BO for my games. I've received 9 games from them in the past few months and not been hit by any import duties (touch wood)

    * US retailers will have to charge VAT to EU customers *

This is only for digital downloads. Buying physical goods like DVDs etc will not be affected by this change.

Okay, I didn't read it properly. Talk on Slashdot was about subscriptions to US services being affected. Also the charges that eBay applies to transactions.

I guess it's possible they could extend this to other types of sales later.

    Stay tuned

DVD BoxOffice get my vote of approval - used them mainly for DVDs (about 80) - found them very good and never been hit for import duty on the over £18 orders
