Hi I've got a wee question regarding 'impedance' - Thinking of buying the Eltax Camarque range but finding the right av amp seems a problem.

Centre speaker = Impedance 4 Ohm
Front Speakers = Impedance 4 Ohm
Rear Speakers = Impedance 6 Ohm

Was hoping to link this to a Marantz SR5200 but it seems the amp is running at 8 Ohm - I take it one or the other will blow up eventually. Have been recommended the Sherwood R956R by the bloke at RS as i've been told it will work with the speakers. I know you guys know better - he just wants his sale.... What should i do?

    HELP?

    Have u checked with Yamaha?

    Here's the link:
    http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/RECEIVER/REC_RX-V.htm

Check the back panel view (2300/3300): there's a switch called "Impedance Selector"

It has the capability to support Main A or B to 4 OHM, Center/Rear/Rear Center 6 ohm

    or all 8 ohm mode.

    Regards,
    CP

You can use the speakers with any (most) AV amps as long as you keep the volume within normal levels, i.e. no non-stop party or disco on the weekend.
