    Hi everyone,

I have been playing Halo 2 on my 360 and using a new (1wk old) LCD tv, running via component cable at 720 resolution. I have had some image retention. It only happens on Halo 2 and has happened twice in total. The image isnt there if I flick to a tv channel, but if I flick back to the component channel its there. I got rid of it by going into the Halo 2 menu system. I was worried that it may be a fault with my tv but it doesnt happen on any other games. Here are some pictures. Someone said this may be a common fault with halo 2.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Is it a common problem with Halo 2??

top picture shows the problem covering the top half of the screen. The bottom picture is normal after flicking back to the menu.

Yes this happens on Halo2 . Looks like some sort of Z-mask hanging around. Its a glitch with the game on the 360.

Now that you've got that sorted :smashin: I'd move onto more worrying things - like running round with just a naff convenant blaster and an empty needler ;)

lcd's dont suffer from image retention unlike plasma.......

we have your panel at work, i think its something like an le40m61bd or something like that, I've had a sony hi def demo box up to it all week that got stuck and has stopped on the boot up sequence i.e. dos, when you start your pc with no retention at all.

I would say that you have something called ghosting or you have something wrong with your panel

dont think its my LCD because other people with plasma tvs have since reported the same problem with Halo 2. It doesnt occur on any other games / dvds / tv images. Plus, this screen has an 8ms response time, not likely to ghost with it being that fast matey!

The issue in halo is a bug in the backward compatability code. A lot of people have noticed it including me. Seems to happen on different levels.

Unless you got a battle rifle to back up a fully charged shot!

I get this retention too and it's proper annoying. Always seems to appear at the top half of the screen.

I think your getting confused, lcds can't get screen retention full stop, plasmas onthe other hand can get screen retention/burn
