Question I'm trying to make use of my dad's old JVC SP-E300 Speakers on the Hisense TV in my flat.

The first thing we did to try and get the set-up to work was purchase the Prozor 192KHz DAC Digital to Analog R/L Audio Converter (Model DAC01k). I connected it up and changed the TV settings so that the speaker output was to my speakers and changed the Digital Audio Output to PCM.
This worked such that sound was coming out of the JVC speakers, but the sound was very quiet and I haven't been able to figure out how to change the volume. I tried fiddling with all the Audio settings available. Does anyone know what I need to do to change the volume? Or have any suggestions? Do I need another piece of kit?

I think you need some form of Amplification in the middle. Optical Connections on TV's usually do not have any volume control.
