    Just seen The Ring (remake)
    Nearly crapped myself.

Lucky I've got a Tivo, cos the VHS deck is going in the bin.

I've seen the original movies (Ring 1&2), but this remake is just as scary if not worse, very stylish and without the the usual 'hollywood remake' nonsense. The bit where the girl comes out of the TV, very very bad, aaargh!

It's not an exact carbon copy of the original, so you'll still wonder what's going to happen next, if you've know the story.

    Very very good.

I turned my mobile off, which I never do, unpluuged the phone from the wall and unplugged the TV and computer monitor (just in case). It was rather scary to say the least.

I'm never playing another VHS tape again either. Just packed my VCR away in a box after using it as a big clock for the past 14 months.

Haven't played a VCR since December 1999 and got rid of it completely a few months later. So unless it's on DVD no video tape is killing me, Oh Baby . Also for some people unless it' has a DTS soundtrack it won't be killing them either.:rotfl:

:nono: You should be, you should know better:D

how can it stand up to the original Japenese version (Ring that is not VCR), did you think it was scarier because you could understand it and didnt have to read the screen?

One of the scariest moments in the history of cinema (original version), but a spoiler alert might have been in order.

"did you think it was scarier because you could understand it and didnt have to read the screen"

    Well yes.....Sorry.
It's a lot better and easier to watch a fast-pased English spoken movie, than a subtitled movie, anyone would agree, dubbed versions are dodgy I admit.

"I've seen the original movies (Ring 1&2), but this remake is just as scary if not worse, very stylish and without the the usual 'hollywood remake' nonsense"

I really enjoyed the originals, the only reason that I went to see this new version was because I got free tickets, but I glad I did now. I was expecting a crap remake, but it was great.

I may be an idiot, but I'm no fool.
Off to play X-Box Live and slag off some foreigners... Yippee.

I originally had this line in my original and deleted it before posting.

"(and yes, I know the audio is in English)"

Obviously I should have left it in for your benefit, shoka.

I have a hearing problem - I hope your paradigm has shifted somewhat.

    regards
    Jim

    Sorry.

According to play and DVDboxoffice, it only has french or spanish subtitles.

Ok Shoka, I should have made myself clearer.

Thats the info I have too, ie no English subtitles. Pity.

    Cheers
    Jim
