The new Toshiba 42' dolby digital RP set is advertised in October's What Hi Fi. There was a thread some time ago quoting Toshiba as saying that this set was 'definitely not going to be released in the UK'. Is it or isn't it? Does anyone know? Also has anyone yet seen the new Panasonic 42' RP set. It has been on the web site for months and is in the Panny brochure. Is there a problem with it? I think we need to be told.

Was the advert in What Hi-fi from Toshiba themselves, or was it from a supplier? Perhaps it will be released after all ???

Here's the link to the thread from a few weeks ago with Toshiba customer services response:-

    John,

Which page is the advert on? I bought a copy today and have had a quick scan through it but didn't notice the advert.

Also I see that Robert Whyte have the 42WH18B listed on their site. This is a new model number to me as previous discussions were regarding the 42WT19B. Perhaps the 42WH18B is a version without the DVB tuner which was supposedly causing problems at Toshiba?

I'll give Robert Whyte a call later to see if they have any info.

    Cheers

    Martin

Just had a word with a chap at Robert Whtye who confirmed that the DVB set will not be released in the foreseeable future. However he did say that the non DVB set (the 42WH18B ) is available for pre-order and will be release imminently.

Thanks for your responses. My original message was incorrect - the advert appeared in the October What Video & TV not Hi Fi - sorry. It was within the first 10 - 15 pages.
