Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Warner Bros to develop a YA sci-fi film based on the novel written by Australian scribes Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff as the first in a trilogy (“The Illuminae Files”).
The plot centres on a hacker and her ex-boyfriend in the year 2575 with two rival megacorporations warring over a planet at the edge of the universe. With a plague breaking out, the duo is forced to evacuate the planet with a hostile warship in pursuit.
The story is told through a dossier of hacked documents including emails, maps, files, IMs, medical reports and interviews.
