I've sold my Hd dvd player and 50 films and it gutted me.. The T2 steel book (German)hd dvd version is probably best? people say for pic quality the Japanese(Blu-ray) steel book version is best?
Good luck building the collection up! it'll soon grow:devil::)

I definitely know how you both feel, I went from 120+ HD DVDs that I thought I'd never, ever part with (including a few rares like T2 steely) down to only 18!

As for BluRays, apart from one or two I (hopefully) won't be parting with any of them :)

All of mine are keepers, I rarely sell any at all. They are not "keepers" because I like them all, it's mainly because I can't be bothered selling them. The only 2 I have ever sold are Black Sheep and Vantage Point, the former being the worst film I have ever seen, it's just really dire.

My favourite films that I own on BD are these below. PQ and SQ aside these films you could say are my keepers because each one I love.

Transformers
TDK
Black Hawk Down
Taken
Man On Fire
Bourne 1, 2 and 3
Sunshine
Matrix
Fargo
Silence Of The Lambs
Leon
Sin City
Goodfellas
Dark City
Zodiac
Shawshank Redemption
No Country For Old Men
Reservoir Dogs
The Prestige
Departed
300
Shooter
American Psycho
Falling Down (coming soon)

These are off the top of my head, so there are some I have probably missed.

I have kept every single DVD, HD DVD and now Blu Ray since I first started collecting in 1998.

There are some titles that I like the most which I have on DVD and BD and will never sell them.

Same as CJPowers, I can't be bothered going to the trouble of selling really. There's a few in my blu-ray collection that I know I'll probably never watch again or at least very rarely. But unless I run out of room, they'll just stay put.

I would rather give away DVD's than trying to sell them. I can't compete against new ones as low as £3. Even BD is only twice that if someone willing to wait the time it takes for them to appear in a 3 for 2 at £9.
