    Hi,

In my room i have magiker desk and a few other magiker buts and pieces. Room will be redecorated in the next few weeks to accomodate all my new AV stuff properly.

Currently my TX28PS12 is on the supplied stand with dvd on top of v1 sky+ and my receiver alone on the bottom shelf.

I havnt been able to get to ikea recenly so would appreciate if someone could give me the internal measurements of the different shelves in this cabinet.

    Regards,

    Chris

Internal depth of unit = 560mm
Internal depth of shelves = 450mm (gap at back to enable cables to pass from lower to upper section)
Internal width of shelves = 460mm
    Overall Internal height = 460mm

    For the centre shelves:
Internal depth of unit = 455mm (less than the 560mm above to enable cables to cross between the two outer sections)
Internal depth of shelves = 405mm
Internal width of shelves = 295mm

    Hi Tesla
I have had my stand now for 2 years and have had no problems with it. I bought some castors form Ikea instead of putting the rigid feet that came with it. I have my Plasma on it and various AV gear and all fit fine.

    Thanks for the above post.

I'm decorating my room at the moment and will be getting this to house my gear.

At present i have magiker desk, two towers and a bridging shelf.

Im going to use the towers and bridging shelf over the AV unit and have the desk seperately. I think it will look the dogs.

I hope i can fit in my v1 sky+ box.

I just bought an M7C2 so need the bridging shelf to put it on. It's a bit big to go ontop the TV.

    Hopefully will be able to.

Thats a shame because if it had two and with tinted glass I would have bought one like a shot. One seems pointless

Maybe you can buy an additional door?

Ikea seem to do add-ons and stuff. Maybe say you broke it and need a new one.

I would imagine they can supply one at a cost.

Personally, I am going to just leave the door completely off.

I think that makes sense although my missus wants tinted glass doors as she doesnt want to see the gear. Mind you fitting an additional one would appear out of the question as this would probably make loading and unloading equipment impossible unlesss one dorr overlapped the other.

I originally left the feet off of some other bits of my magiker furniture I have.

I recently put them on and I think it looks much better so will be leaving them on in this case.

Just got to pick out some wallpaper and flooring now...

Can someone please explain to me what is meant by 'castors' with respect to the feet on this particular furniture piece? I have a friend that has one, and after looking around for what seems and eternity, I wouldnt mind getting one of these 'Magikers' from IKEA - the only thing that puts me off is -YES- those horrible feet....(I also have a friend with those too :) )

    Cheers,

    EmissarY.

PS..I have a Mission M7C2 centre, can that go in the middle shelves of this unit? If not what would be the best thing to do to mount them, as I dont really want to put it on top my TV...it looks ghastly....

I have had my magiker stand for about 2 weeks now. It's great. Very strong and easy to build.

Makes my 28" look small though :(

I just have to extend my sky+ cables so I can put the sky+ in the cabinet (its on the floor underneath at the moment) and then I will take a pic.

Looks great though and worth the £85!

think its a different cabnet to the one above with the single glass door, mine has two doors and lightly different design... here is a link for u

it is £59 from ikea, the name of it is Benno... there is also a darker wood style too... only really had this one because of the glass doors which to keep 2yr old at bay.. and i can lock it.. was thinking about tinting the glass slightly.. not sure yet tho..

    Benno link...

    Can anyone let me know.
Which castor wheels did you use to fit onto the magiker tv trolley ? How many did you fit 4 or 6 ?
What type/size of screws did you use to attach the castors ?

I bought this trolley yesterday and I thought castors will be better then the metal legs. The IKEA customer support person told me that its not a good idea to screw castors as the magiker is made of particle board and the screws might come loose. I got some castors from IKEA which specifies it can take 25 Kg. (I'm assuming that fitting 6 castors can eavenly take about 100 Kg atleast).

I'll appretiate your help. Also if possible please e-mail me a picture of your setup. e-mail me at foobarone@hotmail.com

    Any help would be apreciated.

They do the Kaxas range with a steel frame beneath (100kg rated and the larger one costs £45), I'm shortly to remove the frame and fit a plinth & castors. I think it's a couple of cm larger than 90cm. I didn't want it originally (need a locking glass front and bought Benno but that was too large to fit across a corner otherwise fine) cos of the grey/black colour but it's actually rather nice. The tinted glass doors disinterest the little fngers that usually pry.....
