i have had a go with the 360 controller and have to say it feels nicer than the 's' pad, the new shoulder buttons are loads easier to get at than the old white and black ones.

as for ninty's new controller it could be great with tailor made software, but for existing franchises i just hope is doesn't end up as a gimmick.

There will be a shell which the controller fits into so it can play "normal" games. Go to ign's GameCube section. They have a mock up of it there

I wouldn't write off the Revolution controller just yet. Remember what people said about the N64 controller? It was universally despised when it was shown first then once you used it, it was great. I'm going to wait until I use the controller before I pass judgement.

I think the good thing about the 360 controller looks to be that MS have not really changed it that much from the S controller...they have just taken on board all the critisism about the S and sorted it for the 360. Stuff like the black and white buttons now being the shoulder buttons and the start button being in a more sensible place.

I still like the idea of using the 360 button to be able to turn the 360 on and off though.....what with me being a lazy sod :smashin:

You know it's completely motion sensing though don't you?

I had a chance to use it at the TGS and its fairly good. It was the wired model and it felt light. Im guessing the wireless model will be slightly heavyer since it has the batteries and such.

It actually felt a little like the dreamcase pad in some ways. The lay out of the buttons is good. They all feel good. (unlike the black and white buttons on the first XBox pad)

Im guessing that for people with larger hands it may feel too small. But it is slightly bigger than the small Xbox pad they released for Japan. I would say somehwere between the first and second XBox controllers.

Yep. I have a motion sensing joypad and a gyration mouse both of which are useless for games. :thumbsdow

Also I recon if someone saw you from behind using one of these controllers it might look like you were 'knocking one out' ;)

One thing you have to remember is that motion sensing pad and gyration mouse have no games designed for them. The Revolution's controller will be standard so the majority of the first party games and probably some of the third party games will be designed specifically for it. I wouldn't dismiss the Revolution's controller just yet. It's best to wait until the console is released and we get to try out the games using the controller.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Think about it, if someone thinks you are pulling yourself off, they're much less likely to disturb you than if you're playing a game. I can only see this as a positive. :D
