And a more discreet affair

Sony certainly weren't being shy with the new product announcements at IFA 2013, including a couple of new soundbars, with contrasting headline features.

The HT-ST3 is claimed to be the the world’s slimmest sound bar with Bluetooth, whils the HT-ST7 is a much meatier proposition with 7.1 audio channels and a more imposing size.

Both soundbars feature Sony's ‘Sense of Quartz’ styling that takes its design cues from this year’s BRAVIA TV collection. At just 4cm high, the ST3 is the world’s slimmest sound bar with Bluetooth and should easily sit under just about any TV.

The ST7 adds a wireless subwoofer and has been developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures' Soundworks. The 7.1 channels are driven by a discrete S-Master Digital Amplifier and use Magnetic Fluid Speakers.

The ST3 uses a 4.1 channel discrete S-Master Digital Amplifier and 11 speakers with S-Force Pro Front Surround processing to create the surround effect.

The new HT-ST7 and HT-ST3 sound bars from Sony are available in the UK from October 2013, priced respectively at £1099 and £599 from Camera, HD TV, Blu-ray, MP3 player, laptop | Sony.
