Retro and Modern Combine

Philips has just held their IFA Press Conference where they focussed heavy on their audio products, particularly their Fidelio range. Philips promised ‘the best of new design and technology plus a modern interpretation of high style from the past’.

First up was the wireless Fidelio Portable Speaker. Sleekly designed with 3 finishes including premium leather, metal and wood the Fidelio Portable speaker will connect with your smartphone or tablet. Philips also demonstrated their Fidelio X1 headphones, designed from the ‘finest materials’ and , as the home product from the range, the X1 features acoustic open back architecture to deliver ‘ pristine audio fidelity’

Retro design has been combined modern technology to create the Original Radio – with a style to echo Philips’ 1950’s design classic the Philetta Radio that combines an iPhone/iPad doc with 10-watt-powered speakers , DAB+ digital radio and easy to use controls.

For a more contemporary looking product, the Philips Urban Micro offers a simple, integrated sound system within a ‘sleek urban design’ that’s available in a range of colours. As European market leader in docking speakers, Philips has used its experience to utilise speaker drivers angled in a precise array, designed to allow stereo sound to be produced from one source.

Philips also unveiled a full range of home entertainment products including a Soundbar, the first intelligent soundbar to feature an orientation sensor, which automatically adjusts for the speaker’s position and a built-in subwoofer. Available in silver, black and orange, it also features Bluetooth connectivity so you can stream music directly from your smartphone, tablet or any other Bluetooth-enabled device.
