Ok, I am sure there are some simular threads about this but here is the thing.

You can cast anyone, and I do mean anyone to be in this movie living or dead
You have funds for the movie of over 500 million dollars.
YOu can direct , produce, write, or employ hollywoods finest to do it for you :smashin:
It can be about anything but must not be a sequal or remake

Dave.

I would knick the money and run..... :D

Seriously tho, I would probably do a sci-fi movie. I love my sci-fi. I havent a clue who would be in it. Me maybe as the lead role with Angelina J as my leading lady, of course there would be loads of sex scenes? ;)

I know Gary was talking about a directors cut of Alexander with Steven Segal in it. :smashin:

HI,

I think I'd like the following involved in my film, even though I don't have a clue what kind of film I'd want to make - possibly a futuristic legal thriller, in French or German:

Co-Directed by:
Martin Scorsese, John Woo, Ridley Scott, Michael Mann, James Cameron, Kathryn Bigelow, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Ang Lee, Ruggero Deodato, Jean-Luc Goddard, Tom Tykwer

Written by:
Michael Mann, David Franzoni, Paul Thomas Anderson and Tony Scott

Starring:
Sigourney Weaver, Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Dennis Farina, William Smitrovich, Jodie Foster, Angelina Jolie, Diane Venora, Amy Brenneman, Keifer Sutherland, Jean-Hugues Anglade, Tchekyo Karyo, Anne Parrillaud, Beatrice Dalle, Christopher Walken, Bruce Lee, Michelle Yeoh, Chow Yun-Fat, Phillip Baker-Hall, Julianne Moore, William H Macy, Phillip Seymour Hoffman,

Edited by
Thelma Schoonmaker, Pietro Scalia, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg

Music / Soundtrack by:
Hans Zimmer, Aimee Mann, John Williams, and various artists.

Company:
20th Century Fox and Dreamworks.

Thought about something like this a few years back while watching 'A Bridge Too Far'.

Back then there seemed to be quite a few films with loads of big stars in them. Probably could not be done these days as each star would want a massive fee and would cost too much.

But I did get to thinking about an ideal film and who I would like to see in it. You would think that if the script and story were good enough and it was destined to be a classic, some of these stars might want to appear in it for minimal fee just to be involved (if they could put away their egos and forget about whose name had to be the biggest on the poster!!).

For the film itself, can't really think what genre it would be. Always thought that something like Heat, Goodfellas, Godfather, Usual Suspects type of film would suit big stars.

Stars that immediately spring to mind would be De Niro, Pacino. Thinking about some of my other favourite actors would include Kevin Spacey, Gene Hackman, Val Kilmer, Ray Liotta, Andy Garcia, Joe Pesci.

Other actors (some from more recent years) would include Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Benicio Del Toro, George Clooney, James Gandolfini, Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Michael Madsen, Mickey Rourke, Denzil Washington, Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta, Martin Sheen, Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Ray Winstone, Gabriel Byrne, Christopher Walken, Bruce Willis.

Now that would be a film !!

Hey PoochJD- Bruce Lee(RIP)???, this is one movie i will have too see just for the resurrection alone!!

BTW its not one of those Li's or Lea copycats is it?

PoochJD

Just reading through your post I can tell you are a big fan of Magnolia !!

In my Top10 of all time - belting film. Everything about it is superb. The pace, acting, script, story, music, characters, moral.

Must watch it again soon !!

I'd make a porno with sex starved nuns :smashin: then once the nuns have gone i'd but some film in the camera and make a real film.

the film would be about a bunch of sad lonely AV enthusiasts who sit about all day talking crap and getting annoyed with mods. think - "Clerks" without the humour. it would be a horror/sci-fi/drama/love story/comedy/thriller/experimental film it would cost at least 200 million pounds and every penny would be seen in the quality of the house i have built with the budget. :D

Gary

I would go and see that ;)

Assuming that it wasn't going to be a problem if it lost $500M dollars and no one wanted to see it, I'd make an alternative version of The Lord Of The Rings that's a bit closer to the original Tolkien.

I'd also (as I seem to recall saying in another thread recently) like to see a big-budget, heavy-F/X version of Shakespeare's The Tempest. And possibly a sci-fi version of Hamlet (think Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet meets Dune). Come to think of it, a decent version of Dune itself wouldn't go amiss.

For pure ego reasons I'd try filming a not-very-good TV script I wrote when I was a student, and possibly the truly execrable attempt at a fantasy novel that I wrote at about the same time (but never finished).

Erm...

I'd like to see a properly-done version of the Iliad and Odyssey.

And a properly done version of Earthsea.

One thing that I find it utterly baffling no one has attempted to film yet is Anne McAffrey's "Pern" novels. The first one (Dragonflight) would be the obvious starting point.

I'd like to push technology to the point where one can make computer generated porn look like the real thing, and then p*ss everyone off by making {**Mod Comment**Comments on Child Porn (even in jest) Offends people, it was probably made in fun or to prove a point but was not felt to be in context on a family site**}
Some true-to-source adaptations of Dickens and Jane Austen.

I'd like to make a film inspired by the 30s and 40s cinema serials that actually works - there hasn't been one since Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

If I had any money left after all that, I'd give it to Joss Whedon and let him make a new TV version of Firefly.

Necroscope. (Books by Brian Lumley)

Although there is talk of someone doing it soon anyway :)

Well instead of waiting for it to be made. I would get Ridley Scott to direct Alan Moore's Watchman.

I've said it before and I'll probably say it again.

The Stainless Steel Rat.

Ok, it's not a great work of literature, but it reads like a film. And there's a whole series to do.
Don't know about casting the lead. Perhaps Clooney as the older version in the later books. Mrs. Stainless Steel Rat would have to be Angelina of course.

Or the 13th Valley (book by John M. Del Vecchio) my favourite Vietnam book

Chickenhawk - Robert Mason's life as a helicopter pilot in vietnam.

Good Lord.... The fact that the topic generates such a level of unreasoned, paranoid hysteria that it cannot even be discussed without censorship makes my point very clearly, I think.

I'd make a film about a tyrannical ego driven world leader who thinks he owns the planet and everyone loves him.

As he goes round the globe installing democracy with big f*** off guns and war planes his faithful lapdog fails to take his dose of submission pills and realises what a tossa he really is and .....................

Well then comes the sequel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
