I have posted a couple of things in this group and you maybe interested in the following if you are thinking of buying:-

    1) Widescreen Pictures are really great and is worth the money on this alone.

    2) Panoramic Zoom is not good at all. You are able to see where the picture is being stretched at the sides and once you have noticed it is hard to ignore. (JVC say this is normal even though the manual says the picture should still stay natural) Another case of the centre of the picture looking good but the sides looking most odd.

    3) The component inputs do not change the zoom of the picture, i.e put a 16:9 DVD in your component player and you will have to change the Zoom manually to Full. (Again JVC have confirmed this)

In my opinion this is a really good display for the money with plenty of sockets in the tuner box.

Stay away from panoramic mode and you should be pleased.

    Hope this helps someone

The panoramic mode sounds just like the panasonics just mode, that mode made me feel sick and hurt my eyes.

The V31 has replaced the 42D30. The main difference is the styling. It uses a lower resolution screen than the D30 but has a slightly improved version of DIST and overall has a better picture.
