I bet its the 9945 with Pixel Minus! :p

Sorry I just really dont like that set! ;)

I'd go for a Panasonic HD with an expensive external scaler ready for High Def Digital Stuff!

Happy with my PW6 though :)

Pioneer PDP434 here as well. Although if i was you, i'd wait for the new range of Pio's out aprox September this year. If the press release is anything to go by, they look like the dogs undercarriage!

Having seen those Bang & Olufsen in action, they are mighty good screens. Anyone know who manufactures them ?

    Yep
B&O manufacture them! I could tell you who's panel they use but the contrast should give it away!, Its like having a top Panel and Scaler all rolled up in a very sexy suit and delivered with a rose between its teeth!

Or IMHO take a good plasma screen / DVD mechanism and put it in a vile case.

Honestly, if someone gave me one of those (the first one is ok, but I'd have to hide the box) I'd sell it straight away!

I think the BeoVision uses the Panasonic 848 x 480 glass? Would much rather a Lumagen and PHD panel ....

It's a Panasonic......As I have said....HD Pio or Panny calibrated with scaler will be different class and I suspect you'll have a few bob left for some software and a holiday.

Thanks, saw it in Selfridges running ROTK, not sure of the source, I think it was off a B&O DVD. The picture was absolutely sublime, the best I've seen.

It's a panny 5 in a whacking great box. Nice electronics, but one H. of a price tag. You could get a HD panny/Lumagen based cinema system and still have change enough for a decent LCD for the bedroom. Nothing much wrong with B&O apart from the price. I understand, but could be wrong here, that Sonance make their speaker drivers. Not quite so much mark up there then.

Are the office ones definitely 9945s not monitor only models like the P20 or P30? AFAIK the 9945 is only available and will only work with the media box (and will also exhibit a different picture from the P30).

they look exactly the same but they run them through videos cos they dont have tuners so i guess they are not the same cos mine has a built in tuner not a box but built into the back of the screen

    Hello all

    technovirgin:
Does the Philips Literature or Instruction manual warn you that the displays all Solarise video signals - if not send it back!

As per previous posts get an HD Pioneer or Panasonic and if you have the budget now or later a decent quality external video processor.

    hornydragon:
You have got to be kidding - a £2K Plasma Display in a £10K PlasmaTV box!

Its an old Panasonic PWD5 in a big box that rotates if you have the motorized model; though you have to rearrange any down lighting you have in your room as the Display is so recessed into the fancy box that overhead lighting casts a huge shadow across the top third of the screen.

For that sort of money you can have a 6 Series HD Display + Scaler PLUS a half decent Projector and electric screen.

    Best regards

    Joe

Sounds like the office ones are plain monitors so are P20s or P30s. You may be able to reduce solarisation by adjusting settings in the plasma (if you haven't tried already that is). Good luck with getting sorted out!
