    Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before but if I unsubscribe from Sky and they "Kill the Card" will I still be able to get the Free to Air channels or will I have to get a card from the BBC??

    Thanks for your time.

You don't need a card for FTA(free to air) channels.
As to the FTV(free to view, bbc1 etc) I couldn't say for certain but I see no reason why they channels would be blocked when the subscription channels were blocked.
Even if by some bizarre logic they were you can get a FTV card easily from the beeb.

Yes, you will need a FTA(FREE TO AIR CARD) to watch BBC, CH 4 and 5 and ITV1. Go to your services meu and ring the number given for FTA card. Takes about 3/4 days and 24 hours to switch you on. You need the card becuase of copyright and the fact that BBC is done on Post codes.

    Good luck

When you become a non-subscriber your SKY card will still work for Free to Air (BBC etc.)

My experience was that my old Sky card didn't work for FTV channels after I un-subscribed and I had to call the BBC to get a new card. It's no great hassle though, it is free after all.
Some of the terminology is getting confused here - you can get all those wonderful FTA (free to air) channels QVC, Sky news etc (!) without a card, but to get FTV (free to view) you do need a card.
