If cd-wow stocked a (U.S.cover) Alien Quadrilogy, would you get it there?

As title, I spoke to cd-wow today, as I buy 95% of my dvd`s from them, as I have done for a long time, and they`ve always been wonderful.

But I asked if they were going to stock a US (Not bilingual) Alien quadrilogy boxset, and they said there was no demand for it:confused: so wont stock it.

Am I wrong, or would lots of us order it from them if it was available at a good price/ a USA cover, and no worries about customs??

I dont work for them, I just dont want to buy it from canada with a pants cover which will spoil it, or buy it from the US, get overcharged, and possible/ probable tax ontop.

I have posted this in the interests of the forums, not myself, and was just wondering what the outcome would be.

Or am I wrong, and it wont have french writing on the canadian release, if so, dvdsoon will get my vote.

    Regards,
    Spoony.

The bilingual covers never bothered me and if there is anything but the smallest premium to pay for the US rather than the Canadian R1 I'd go for the Canadian. From CD-WOW's response I'm guessing that they feel most customers will be like me and the premium is going to be 10-20%?

I think 20thC Fox DVDs in Canada do not have French writing on anyway. I am not certain though, perhaps someone else can confirm this.

Well, they are stocking the USA version of Indiana Jones, and not the US/CAN version, just that they didn`t say so on the website, as I`ve posted elsewhere.

I was just wondering what interest they`d gain, as I want to order it from them, and nowhere else.
But bilingual covers( unless reversable) really get on my wick.

All of this is IMHO :)

They don't have bi-lingual covers, but they do usually release 2 versions in Canada. One is entirely English, as you say Lex, the other has red mark on the cover (as shown in the attached JPG) which indicates that a French cover is on the reverse.

I couldn't give a toss about bi-lingual packaging as many know :D Whatever's cheapest for me :smashin: In fact, I have one DVD that has nothing but French text on the cover, the booklet, and the disk

If thats the case then SG, I`ll get it from dvdsoon, mind you, if it has lots of french on it when it arrives, I`d be sick as a dog.

    Cheers for your input. :)

Well, I only found one version at DVDSoon mate. Either they haven't put the French version up yet, or Fox aren't releasing a French cover version, or it will be bilingual. I'd say the latter was least probable, but can't be certain.

You can always ask DVDSoon. I know they're not good with email replies at the moment, but they have a dedicated forum on another site that you can use to ask them. I'd better not post the link to the site though ;)

Cheers SG, thats one of the reasons I use cd-wow, I mail Mark at customer services, and normally get a reply in 5-10 minutes, beat that! :clown:

I`ll wait and see what happens then, really want this set now.

Unlike the Indy box, which doesn`t interest me atall.

Yup, and most probably a nice customs tax bill too m8, I got hit for a tenner a month back, from them, for a boxset half the size of that. And I try not to use them anymore if I can help it.
    IMHO of course :)

EDIT: Just looked, and its the region 2 you`re talking about m8?

As its not listed on playUSA.

Not going to get the region 2.

Trouble is, only the first two films were any good really. The others were somewhat lacking IMHO

Alien 3 has been confirmed at the BBFC site to be 138 mins - around half-an-hour longer than the theatrical cut, not 1 hour.

Still long enough to make a huge difference to the film and it's one of the things I'm most looking forward to in this set.
