I recently changed MB to an Abit IS7 which has 1 onboard IEEE and two more on a plate. Everything is connected right but when I plug my VX2100 in nothing shows up. I had no trouble with my old Abit IT7 MB. The IEEE 1394 Bus master Controler shows up enabled in device manager and I'm running windows XP. All other USB cameras worked when they are plugged in just not FireWire. Any ideas?

are you running the most recent drivers, very important, infact have you installed the drivers at all, many people simply swap mobo's and dont install the drivers which often leads to things not working as required.

try the most recent drivers off the abit website, check the bios as well, their might be a setting to enable the firewire ports
