Just ordered a couple of discs from DVD Empire for the first time. However they have emailed me asking to me verify my identity by faxing a copy of my credit card statemant, driving license or passport.
I have ordered from a number of suppliers, but this is the first time I have had such a request.
Is this normal? I am a little apprehensive about providing additional details other than those provided for my credit card.
    Any advice?

This is a security measure that quite a few firms are using to try and cut out fraud.

It is a common measure with US firms unfortunately. It is very common to ask for a photocopy of the credit card (back and front). I for one would not be prepared to fax any of those things over though. I'd rather not use them if it came to it. But that's just me. :) Perhaps in the future, they'll start asking for a blood sample as well
