My current audio setup is listed below. My amp is going in for service/repair due to problems with the volume. I am thinking that this might be the oppurtunity to upgrade.

    Any recommendations?

    Cheers

    Radio - Sony STSE500

I'd second the Arcam DiVA A85 option. Especially since it has an option for a 6ch. in and output card.

Any idea when this will be available?

    No idea i'm sorry!

Will ask the rep next time he's round. I'll see him next when the new THX appears. The 3ch version of the P85 power amp is available now though.

Ahhh. The A85. Yes I would love that amp, but seing it as is more than my whole setup original cost....!

Wouldn't I be doing the amp an injustice connecting to Tannoy M2's?

    Cheers

Probably yes. But you've got to start somewhere. There's no point just moving sideways, you've got to go up, waste of money otherwise.

I second that, I haven't had a system with similarly priced components since my original Denon DCD-580, Rotel RA-930AX, Mission 760 original budget system.

First I upgraded my CD player to a Marantz CD67SE, then I leapfrogged this (in price terms) with the Arcam A85 amplifier.

I've moved into AV so now I have the luxury of things like: if I upgrade my surround backs to bipoles I can move the old surround backs to second room speakers freeing up the old speakers to complete my original budget system which I can use in another room. (These sorts of thoughts only some after years of pouring money into my AV habit and never using any part exchange deals. :D)

    Charles.
