Anyone know where I can buy a copy of Ico for the PS2 apart from ebay?

    :lease:

I know it's old but I need to track this one down if possible.

    Regards.

Good luck, im in the same boat as you, i aint paying £50 for a game from ebay, no way.

There is a guy in the classified section who has a copy, you can have it if you get him Battlefront on PS2, i cant find that cheap anywhere to do the deal.

Amazingly they stopped production of this game not too long after release, I think alot of people just didn't realise at the time they were leaving on the shelf one of the finest games in videogame history. I think the limilted edition version with the postcards was the only version to be released.
Damn do I regret getting rid of that game upon completion, one of the biggest mistakes I made.
I have seen it a couple of times in the Game pre-owned sections but they've always been really tatty and at £35 I would want it in a good condition box
Good luck with finding it, you best hope I don't see it first ;)

I managed to pick one up of the forums a while back in mint condition for £15. I can't remember who sold it to me, but it was a great buy :)

I've seen multiple 2nd-hand copies in Forbidden Planet (nee Another World) around the £15-20 mark. There're two in the Derby one right now...

Also reasonably regularly 2nd-hand in Gamestation for £15.99. That's where I got mine.

Picked up a second copy in Cash Generator for £7.49 so it's worth having a look in there occasionally (if you're near one).

Anyone that pays £50 for it on eBay really is desperate: it's around if you look...

i just ordered the US version online for $21.74 including postage. works out to just over £12 which i think it worth it for a game which seems to be rated as one of the best ever on the PS2. Apparently the US version is a bit easier than the UK one which is fine by me cos i'm crap at games!

I hear the PAL version of ICO Is better than the US one. Some tweaked AI and extra features aprently.

does anyone know if ICO will be re-released?Maybe as a Platinum Game?
or will it be given away "free" with ICO 2 (Shadow of the Colossus)
    when it's released.
Kinda like the way Zelda : Ocarina of Time was given away with
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker?

I haven’t heard anything about this, to be honest I doubt they will. Get to eBay and order a copy, this is one of my favourite adventure games of all time. Absolutely spellbinding! :)

I bought the Special Edition Card Case one in Gamestation (2nd hand) about 12months ago for £15.00, to see what all the fuss was about, I didn't like the game at all (not my thing). Sold it on EBAY for £47

Its not that rare, I have seen it several times, just look in the bargain bin is the high street stores I am sure you will find copies knocking about - but I guess I was just lucky, currently I am trying to get hold of Ghost In The Shell (PS1) and I can't find it at a sensible price. For some reason I recall the Demo on the PS1 was excellent and I want to play the full version!!! Like you I aint paying silly EBAY prices

    Two criminal statements there:

    1) Getting the SE for £15
    2) Not liking ICO

Did you play it to the end?

    1) I knew it was worth something so I snapped it up
    2) It just not my kind of game, too taxing for my slow brain

So no, never played to the end. However I must say the GFX and SFX were quite special.

I've only completed the demo version which Sony - presumably - sent to all registered PS2 owners. While I found it quite different and very clever, the thought of more-of-the-same - only probably a lot harder - prevented me from buying it. As sad as it might sound, the demo was long and tough enough for me to have had my fill of the game... Besides, those 'shadow' creatures were just too spooky! I would have probably ended up having nightmares, or something. ;)

Got a lend of Ico from a friend and I didn't think much of it. Limited type of enemies, limited weapons and I found dragging that girl around everywhere very annoying after a while. Not a patch on Zelda.

From the sounds of it you guys didn't give it enough time. It does start slow and is very atmospheric but it build slowly and emotionally ties you in. The ending of ICO is probably one of the best gaming experiences I have had. I only wish there were more of them out there.

If you think letting Ico go for a song is bad spare a thought for me; I traded a mint copy of Suikoden and official strategy guide plus £5.00 for V-Rally...

Nooooooooooooooo, what possessed you man! Suikoden is a class RPG :suicide: . I guess we've all sold stuff we wish we'd kept though. I had stacks of great games on my DC (including an official fishing rod) and traded them all in for a PS2  .

There's a Suikoden going on ebay at the moment for £47.50 with 2 days left  .

At the time I had completed it and didn't think I would play it again...in hindsight though, now I am older, it was probably one of the best games I ever played and would really like to own it again, but not for that sort of price.

The fishing rods are now rare apparantly so you may get a fair bit for one. They weren't supposed to have been sold in the UK but I strangely bought one from the electronics boutique with Bass fishing  . It was the official one as well.

There's a few official ones boxed on ebay for £17 but most of them are the cheap unoffical ones.

I remember seeing somewhere that they are making an ICO2

And ive still got my special edition with the postcards  - very good.
I think there is a cheat somewhere that changes all the weird dialogue and subtitles into English.
