ical stuck on jul17th

    i was wondering why it was like this on my ical for a while, but while browsing the thread "get your mac out for the lads" i noticed a few peoples screen grabs had july17th on theres to

    when i open up ical it goes to the right date, but iresets on july17th every time i knock it off


    just wondering why?? and what can i do to correct it?

    It's a static icon in the dock. No idea why 17th July was chosen, but it is always used.

    I did see a thread on a forum somewhere that said it could be updated using an application, but iCal had to open first so I didn't see the point of it.

    I believe July 17th was the day ical was either announced or released not totally sure which one but think it was the former

    There's a nifty little program that will let you change the ical icon to the current date (when ical's not open). It's called iconical and is found here.

    Of course, you'll need to run it every day, and I suppose it all depends on how much you like July 17.

    That was the date it was originally released. Its not a fault.

    If you look around there are apps that will display a live date there even if iCal is closed.
