Assuming we are talking about the Oculus not the CPU - This is NOT the same as the retail version (called CV1). It works very well for VR and is very immersive, much much better than things like Samsung GearVR, but is obviously not as good as the CV1.

It currently runs the same software/apps/games as the CV1.

I am looking for close to the asking price. If it doesn't sell I will keep it.

Is it hardware differences then for CV1? I am guessing CV1 is the retail version?

I am very interested in this just for curiosity but it's not cheap so not sure if I would end up with a redundant device in a few weeks?

    Yes the hardware is different.

Eventually the support for DK2 will stop but it wouldn't be weeks. Oculus have said they will support it for as long as possible.

However, even though I'm the seller, if you are not sure about this whole VR thing then I'd suggest to wait for the next generation in 2018/2019 or so. By then things will be cheaper and better.
