I had sky installed in a room for over a year I went on holiday when I came back it was not working, So thinking its straight and simple asked my father to ring Sky T.V services. He rang them they said it would cost even if we needed a new box. I explained to her that I had tested the box at my sisters house and it worked fine and well. She insisted that it was what they charged and included everything. I did not want to but I did agree So without wasting time she asked for a credit card number and bang went £65 from my Visa Account. She booked a engineer to come out to me in 3 days. 3 days later "B and N" turned up from some "sub contract" company. When they arrived they were your typical installers. One went on roof and the other checked the box after about an hour of "checking" they came up with the conclusion that it was not "working" while going onto the roof they got their ladder stuck on the guttering and knocked the guttering out of alignment and now one piece is very loose and a little broken off Not wanting to make matters worse ( I deal with car audio on a day to day basis and have over 10 years expertise in the field) I asked what they were going to do then it was take a deep breath and lecture me. TO MAKE AMAZEMENT it was £65 call out charge which I had already paid to Sky Tv ANOTHER £65 for a "bracket" which to any t.v installer commonly known as a "lashing kit" and to pay more than £10 would be robbery in Yorkshire and £40 for cabling ! and you have to remember its going back into the same room. They gave me the "good cop bad cop thing" no need to say I was disgusted and shocked anyway he said he would do it for £150 yes £150 anyway I moaned and groaned and then he agreed and said he would do it for £65 I did not want to continue fighting as I was in a rush I asked them to come back at a later time and install the unit. Now when we AGREED £65 that was for all and everything needed ( which I know was just a quick re alignment) however they did not want to agree and gave me pointless and stupid lectures which I'm sure even they did not understand. I did ask them about a Additional unit + dish and was quoted £60 having talked about the price we agreed £100 for everything including installing a new unit downstairs with a QUAD LNB so running off one dish. Anyway this bloke turned up on the day to install he unit, I was away in my friends house and was en route in that time he INSTALLED ANOTHER TWO dishes to my house which ( breaks council regs for buildings) I did not realise till the very end that their are more dishes on my roof than the whole street! I asked him why and I was given a very stupid answer that I wont even type. When he installed the unit in A the old room and B the new room he did not "tack the cable" anywhere outside my home or even inside. I had a double glazing man who is going to fit units to my parents house and I asked the engineer to not drill into the frames and into the brickwork and I was given the drill in my hands and was told " drill where you want" I had a right mind to drill the thing into his temple but I resisted. Then when the unit was fitted I went away ( had to go away) I gave the money £100 to a member of my family to hand over once the job was done and then when I returned a little later to find the unit in the new room going into standby every 20 mins. They did not even leave a "calling " card or even a receipt when they left. So being shocked and angry I rang sky services which told me that someone will ring me in 2 days to talk to me about 2 days passed ( 30 mins waiting on the phone 2 times) I rang again and was told to ring another number I did and was told someone will talk to me about it .Nobody rang to I rang back after 5 days and was told that they the contractors had 7 days in order to reply. Well I have had no reply and its been over a week and I am without my £35 extra I paid for the box and my guttering is damaged the cladding on my dormer was ripped off when he installed the second cable and the holes the drilled are not silicone the cable is not tacked and I must have a huge phone bill. They said they would ring and talk to me about it. I hope I did not take much of your time and hope you guys know how bad they really are.
