Just wondering who plays console games with the up/down inverted, or normal. I play flying games etc inverted but have allways played First person games normally with up being up and down being down

    agree with pool.

People who play 'verted' or racing games in the 'out-car' view are just plain wrong and should stop it at once.

oh and south paws are freaks too

Surprisingly I'm also with 'pool on this one;)
    Dom,
So do you play MotoGP with the "behind the visor" view?
Agreed it's realistic and looks the biz but boy is that difficult

Maybe I should have kept it to myself that I use the "out-bike" view?

I take it by 'inverted' you mean 'up button/stick forward = nose down/aim down'?

If so, I'd call that normal!

Anyhoo, that's how I play, but I don't know which way to vote!

    Yes.

    And, no.

The problem with the in-cockpit view is that one doesn't see as much as one would if sat in the real thing. Therefore, the out-of car view seems to me to more accurately represent the peripheral vision experienced in real life.

On the other hand, the in-cockpit view is a fairly good representation of the restricted forward view that many race drivers 'suffer'.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

I play with inverted mouse on my PC for eveything, realy thrwos me off a bit if someone uses an non-inverted mouse without telling me.

I use external views for most driving and flying games also. You just don't get a wide enough viewing angle on a single monitor.

I always think that if you are viewing it from a third person perspective then you are really controlling a floating camera and not the actual object. therefore if you push the view stick to the right you are actually moving the camera right and the person you are in control of should move left, as in Mario games.

I find games such as splinter cell very frustrating and i cannot get my head round them, they even say that the right analogue stick controls the camera but why then when you move the camera right does it move left ? in otherwords it is not controlling the camera but the person and the left analogue stick already does this so why repeat it again.

this is one of my pet hates and means i havent played loads of supposedly good titles because of it, and i have a few mates that are the same, so how many sales do they loose out on because of a couple of hours worth of programming.

Plus (in-cockpit) you do not get to see the car you have chosen! Whats the point of winning all those races and upgrading to a nice new car if you cannot even see it?! I mean, one steering wheel is much the same as any other! :D
