    Hi,

I bought almost a year ago an iPod. It's a great thing, but 40GB is a lot. I am using it only for a couple of songs (+/200), so I am thinking about buying an iPod mini or even the new Shuffle.

But what should I do with my iPod? I think best is to sell...

Who knows what's the best place to sell it?

    Thanks.

But selling on eBay is quite a hassle, don't you think. First, you have to set up an account with them, take digital pictures, write an ad, do packaging, and then shipping. And how trustworthy is it? I read two weeks ago in the Times that there are more and more gangs on eBay committing fraud. And buyers don't always pay. Finally, it would take me way too much time to do all this stuff.

    Any other suggestions?

I have sold loads of stuff on Ebay. Packaging is easy. if you don't have the original box just get some bubble rap and a box from the post office. The ad writes itself only takes 5 mins. If you are worried about payment only accept Cheque and Bank transfer. This way you can wait for funds to clear before sending the item. Simple ways to protect yourself. Also always send registered mail for tracking and charge the cost to the buyer.

Other option is loot I suppose.

What are your opinions on those so-called eBay drop-off stores like the American AuctionDrop? They do everything for you: from taking pictures to shipping. You don't have to do anything. And you know they can sell it for you. There's one in London called HipSnap. See http://www.sellmyipod.com.

Who's has experience with such stores?

OK I dont want to sound rude, but you asked teh question at 5.19pm and it is now 6.30pm, in that hour you could have set up an ebay account, taken a pic or two and written an advert and have it up and running.

How long will ittake you to go into town with your ipod get them to take photos, do you and ad that you have to approve and go home again? Probably longer than an hour I would guess?

I agree it is a bit of an effort and I only ever sell something that is worth my time, ask my wife she will vouch for the loft full of stuff. But ebay is a great way to sell stuff at absolute top dollar, go on, make the effort, and then feel chuffed you did it. :)
