samsung are smashing the dlp technology :D

i reckon they have beat'in manu's like sony, lg, pan, tosh etc for a while, i think they deserve the limelight for a while untill others get ahead again with the technology

but i'll stick to UK :suicide:
i heard dubia has bigger screens and are more popular and cheap ;)

yes but that stuff wont be over here for ages, in addition; we cant view BBC 1 in 1080p so there's no point bothering..even so, there are other Samsung dlp's that should be over here right now, but we're not getting these for ages either

they're not bothering because our terrestrial broadcast isn't good enough for these highly advanced tvs, plus the market over here for DLP'S is so damned small............if you dont believe me, you go into Currys at Christchurch, it's all plasma, crt and lcd.

CRT are now so cheap and the P.Q on display is so good, that ``joe average beer gut numbskull``; isn't interested in DLP, this situation is compounded because the samsung sp 50 they have on display is set up incorrectly and has the worst P.Q in the whole shop/ bulb worn out etc....therefore nobody is interested in it, they stroll past it without giving it a second glance :( now this is a fact because i've spoken to the staff there, plus observed it myself. :lesson:

NOW AM I RIGHT, OR AM I RIGHT :rotfl: :rotfl:

now we rave about how great the SP 50 is, yes but we're only about 0.000001 % of the population, :rotfl: :rotfl:

Joe Average has never even heard of DLP, until this changes; we wont get anything decent over here....it's too expensive to market a new product like this, especially when we're still basically analogue...............DLP in the U.S.A
is a tidal wave, but over here it's a leaking tap haha :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

now they won't get that sp 50 working correctly.....no point.....because its not selling enough, it's therefore a waste of time setting up correctly....it's like a dog chasing its own tail..................and when you do ask to see it in operation, all you get is a spotty 18 year old and a crappy old DVD player...

when i asked him to see it working, he went out back and returned with a 50 quid DVD player, covered in dust and coffee stains and some silly Walt Disney film.

he didn't know how to adjust it at all....i stood there shaking my head in disgust :( :( .......... he gave the remote to me and i did it for him, yes i kid you not.....and then he blamed the crappy feed.....yes but all the tvs have the same feed, but unfourtunately they all looked way better than the DLP.

do you know, i've never used a DVD in my life..(i still have video) and i knew how to operate it better than him. :D :smashin:

now you know why Sammy DLP's wont sell that much over here.........because nearly everybody goes to currys, comets etc and not these specialised retailers with viewing theatres etc.

there is no doubt though, that the SP 50 is the best looking tv in the whole shop.........it looks like something out of star trek............``NCC- 1701-SP 50 - Heavy Cruiser of the Soverign class `` :D :D

i better go before i blow my head gasket :rotfl: :rotfl:

in fact, Next Generation and all the Star Trek from the last 15 years would look fantastic on an sp50.............but even better on an SP 50 with 1080p, but alas no :( :(

but does it really matter.........NO, because my current tv is a 24'' crt, so an SP 50 will blow me away...it'll look simply awesome; but i like to do loads of research first and why not, i've got to wait ages yet :( :(

I doubt it - while the TNG live action was shot on film, the effects and mastering were done at a lower quality to save money so it'll never look better than it does now on analogue broadcast.

``HDTV Obsoletion begins - introducing UHDTV!
You have to laugh at how quickly state of the art technology becomes obsolete. Otherwise, you'll cry. Engineers at Japanese national broadcaster NHK have knocked together a prototype system which produces 4,000 lines of resolution. In order to store 18 minutes of video in this format, they filled 16 daisy-chained HDTV recorders and ended up with 3.5 terabytes of data. That's 3584 gigabytes.

The footage they recorded - with custom built cameras, since no existing cameras can capture this amount of information - was so realistic that members of the public experienced motion sickness. Apparently, the images given by 4,000 lines are approaching photorealism. It's great to finally see this starting to happen.

Of course, by the time UHDTVs are affordable at a rich enthusiast level, I wouldn't be surprised if computer resolutions have leapfrogged it again.``

this is rubbish, just bored geeks fooling around with toy technology; a new Concorde capable of Mach 6, you and i know it'll never happen.

there is no market whatsoever for this technology; with regards to the General public here in the U.K, only in about 15 years time..........good grief, we still dont have HDTV and this is nothing in comparison to UHDTV......

as said, we're still living in the ``dark ages`` here in the U.K

too right in some cases, the comet in reading is pretty good, i guess it depends where the shop is and what kind of peeps are employed.
it just goes to show, that we are the developing country in technology and the east well what can i say they are well some are developed countries in technology, if that made sence :D it just makes me laugh :suicide: as we are soo behind with technology that it should be cheaper over here in the UK, but nooooooooooooooo we are the most expensive in the world when buy any technology :suicide:

anyway when i become prime minister :) the first thing i do is get the dam technology here in a flash
