Just swapped computers and downloaded I Tunes with no problems.
It recognises all my old tunes in the hard drive and plays these.
However when I insert a new CD into the computer to copy to I tunes the program does not recognise or register the new CD.

I guess I need to change my settings somewhere? Can somebody help?

    Thanks.

PC or Mac? Copy protected CD by any chance? Does any CD that previously worked with iTunes and you made an MP3 of all or some of the songs on it, still work? Or is it too not being picked up as loaded.
Could be an optical drive issue rather than iTunes or the CD itself. Does the CD show on the desktop/My Computer when inserted? Does it even spin up in the drive?

If you click on the Edit menu and then click preferences you can set up your default options there. There's an option on what to do when you insert a CD, I have mine set to "Show songs" and then I have the box ticked where it says "connect to internet when needed".
Also, if you are on windows XP and have the firewall enabled, make sure it's not blocking internet access for iTunes.

    Thanks.
It turned out that my default player wasn't set to ITUNES however after just installing version 4.9 this morning things are working fine now.

    Thanks again
