I bought the Tom Clancy Box Set from Play on Xmas day as part of their sale. I jumped at it as it was only £17.99 and included

Hunt for Red October - DTS
    Patriot Games - DTS
Clear & Present Danger - DTS
    Sum of All Fears

I recommended it to a friend who went back on today and its off the bargain list and selling at £32.99

    I'm never normally that lucky!

Perhaps they did make a mistake - never knew the first 3 films had DTS

No, I didn't realise they were DTS either until the set came through. It was advertised as DD 5.1

The first three titles are Collectors Editions with 16:9 widescreen formatting. The Sum of All Fears is the 2.35:1 format. Watched it last night and the sound was excellent albeit DD 5.1 on this title.

I must admit that I expected a couple of disks with 2 films on each for the price, but I'm really pleased with the box set and individual DVD's in their own case contained within it.

... the films were "revisited" in 2003 & remastered to include DTS ... I bought Clear&PD with The Sum of AF in 2003 from dvdsoon for about £7 each (Clear&PD is £8.65 there now)

They were selling the boxset in Tesco 2 or 3 months before Play had it and it was only about £25

That was probably the boxset with the old release of the films and the new Sum of all Fears.

Have to admit didnt notice if the films in the case had DTS or not but the boxart was identical, at the time thought it was very strange, Tesco having something that Play had advertised for a few months time.

I think it's only the Region 1 versions that have a dts soundtrack.

No, All but sum of all fears have DTS on region 2. I think that it's to do with Paramount adopting the DTS format on their discs.

I read that unfortunately Sum of all fears was released shortly before they decided to do this so it didn't warrant a new release so soon.

Got my box set in october from HMV for £25.00, 3DTS and 1 DD5.1
