I'm not having much luck this month- everything keeps dying on me!
I noticed this morning a crackle in my speakers when playing my XBOX 360 through my Pioneer VSX 808, which at first I thought was a dodgy rear speaker, then I realised it was only crackling when playing in DD 5.1 and not when I turned DD off. It wasn't isolated to the rear spekaer alone, it was both rears and the centre!
I tried playing DVD with DD5.1 and the crackling was far worse (it was more a digital distortion noise than a crackle) and when I tried playing a DTS DVD there was no sound at all, and all that happened was the DTS logo flicked on and off on the amp, there was no sound at all and only thetwo fronts and the sub indicated they were working.
So any ideas as to what the problem is, or as I suspect, is my old Pioneer finally had it after 6 years?
