After seeing a lxd500 in action im very tempted to get the 600. I want it for watching TV (SD) soon to be HD :D :D.
For my xbox 360 with HD DVD player.

What I am asking for is people with this TV to give me a low down on it. Am I better off getting the 500 and saving about £400 or is the 600 so much better.

The shop I went in only had the 500 on show.

Whats the best sort of price for this
    http://www.johnlewis.com/Audio+and+TV/Televisions/Televisions/LCD+TV/1284/230403522/Product.aspx

Im going to shop around but any help would be good.:lease: :lease:

Definately a good choice. I have the TX32LXD500 and love it but if buying again now I'd go for the 600, newer model + 2 hdmi's etc.

    You definately won't be disappointed:smashin:

I have the 600 and I have regreted every moment since I bought it that I did not buy 2 of them. Its the business and I love it !!! Superb TV and a must buy for those people who moan that, "LCD's aren't as good as my Goldstar 14 inch CRT", its better than any CRT I ever saw. The sound is awesome, no really its fantastic, and hook up a HDMI to an upscaling DVD and you are in movie heaven.

Can't say if the 600 is better than the 500, but the new IPS panel has an impressive viewing angle that doesn't depreciate in PQ whatever angle I am viewing from. And freeview or a strong analogue signal looks brilliant too.

So I guess thats a yes from me then:smashin:

I'm still stuck between this and the Philips 32PF9731D:rolleyes:

Not seen one in action but I have seen the Panny. Need to see the Philips though as if it is half as good as others say..................... it's gonna be a no brainer as to which I'll buy:thumbsup:

Get the Panny and some lighting stick it behind the tv i bet it looks the same and will save you about £200.

This model has an auto light sensor but no manual backlight adjustment.

For me this was a problem but for other people it was not.

I've had the 500 for well over a year and never felt the need for backlight adjustment but I guess some people feel they need it. Panasonic have done a pretty good job for you. Both the 500 & 600 are second to none in calibration.

im in the same position trying to decide between the
philips 32pf9731d and panasonic tx32lxd600 like yourself
i have seen the panasonic in action but am still waiting to find
a philips to look at. according to what hi-fi the only difference
in PQ is that the philips has a sharper picture and the
    panasonics's blacks are blacker.

excellent LCD is the panny, but like every other LCD it still doesn't handle movement as well as CRT.

Im going to get the 600. now to find the best price for it. Found it for around the £1300 mark in 32" with 5 years Warenty.

This is john lewis. going to go into my panny shop over the next few days see if I can get them to do me a deal as I have cash. Maybe see if they can throw in a stand as well.

Anyone seen any good deals on this TV

    Hi mate,

I paid £798 for the Panasonic Viera TX32LXD600 so £1300 seems bl00dy expensive to me. I got it at this price through currys codes and quidco. If I were you, unless you can get it sub £1000 I would wait and see what codes the new year brings.

Empire Direct have the TV for £999 and because they have a shop you can get John Lewis to price match.

It might not be £798 but you will get a 5 year warranty for nothing which is worth it IMHO. And if something goes wrong you have a friendly JL face to get grumpy with! ;)
