Hi folks, ive had all sorts of fun today as some of you know however im not having as much fun now, please let me explain-

I bought some Yammy NS-E103's for my ES/EX rear surrounds. They are cheap and not much kop i know but when i bought my Denon 3801 they were virtually chucked in for nothing just so i could go home and heve ES/EX out of the box(a nice gesture) even if they are not all that good.

Anyway after several extremely loud messes aroung today playing with a new sub thay are not working at all so i took them out and put in some old HI-FI speakers just to see.

The new or should i say old HI-FI speakers are working now in the same mode (7ch stereo) that the Yammies did not work in.
    Therefore i guess i've buggered em!!! D'oh

    1) Is there anything i can do other than chuck em in the bin
2)Any advice on new rear surrounds( up to 300quid a pair)
3)does anyone want any nice decorative white boxes that pretend to be speakers ha ha oh well we live and learn!
    Thanks folks,John.

    Hi John
1, Make and model of the rest of your set up?
2, Do you want di-poles, bi-poles or direct speakers as your sb?

From your post it seems that you use your 3801 in 7 ch stereo for music. If this is the case I would suggest that you try direct speakers as I've found that these give better results in 7 ch. IMHO

    Hi John

    1) You could replace the drivers or just lob them in the bin.

    2) Depends what make of speakers you have in the rest of the system. I´d go for monopoles (direct radiator).

Have a look at Kef Q1´s, Q8s (smaller, easier to place). www.kef.com

But it really depends on what other speakers you have.:)

    cheers
