Does anyone know where I can pre order the Japanese R2 I, Robot in the Sonny Head (due in March next year) other than from Yeasia as they have already sold out on pre order.

I have already checked CDjapan and amazon Japan but no luck.

    cheers

I just pre-ordered this on Amazon Japan. I was checking their site for a while and its only today that I have seen them taking orders for it (before it just had the detials and price, but no option to actually buy it!).

How can you setup an account wih Amazon Japan?
When I go to the setup page it is only in Japanese even though I have selected the English translation.
I have accounts with Amazon.com and .co.uk, but it seems it will not recognise these.

    any ideas?

Just use your email adress and password as you have registered with the other Amazon sites already. My UK/US account details were recognised by the Japanese site the first time I used it.

The reason why I cancelled with Amazon is that it is very likely you will get clobbered for VAT and import duty when they deliver it, whereas with Yesasia you don't get hit with either.

I've just ordered one of these fantastic looking 'heads' from YesAsia. Will I definitely not be hit by import duties??

Don't panic, I have ordered hundreds of quids worth of gear from them and never once been knobbled. The post mark on the envelope says Croydon so they obviously bulk ship to the UK and then repost to get around it.

I've been thinking about this head all day for some reason and decided to cancel my order. Having looked at some close up pictures of it I just couldn't see any justification for the £160 price tag on YesAsia. The promotional picture on most sites makes it look really good but in the flesh it doesn't look particularly impressive. If it were under £100 (which it would be if I could get one avoiding import tax from Amazon.co.jp) it might be worth it.

It's not often I get a strange feeling of regret after making a large purchase but with this I did so cancelling it seemed to be the right option. Hopefully, YesAsia will refund my PayPal payment ASAP.

Well mine is now on the way, so in for a penny in for a pound (or 160).
I'll post some comments about it as soon as it arrives to make you either jealous or envious:)

Either way I think it will become a collectable item and will no doubt end up trading for more money than it cost within 6-8 months, so I should still have the opportunity of recouping the loot if I feel it was a waste of money.

I cancelled both my orders... realised I had no space for it.. and could not be bothered...

btw the head is only £70ish quid at amazon so even with customs it will never cost £160 that yesasia.. for that sort of money you could get one from ebay...

    Cheers

    Matt
