Couldn't resist it as i feel so bitter that the Lions have been soundly thrashed. I had so many high expectations and they've all gone down in flames., I still feel our players are better than theirs and with better organization might have pulled off the victory this country so richly deserves. I feel though, that things must change first here with a far greater emphasis put on the country rather than the club. Same applies with football. The old " icing on the cake" mentality must go . When it comes to England/Gb/ Lions it MUST be three quarters of the cake itself.Look at cricket and the way that has evolved. The counties have been told to take a backseat and its the national side that takes most of the spotlight . Its how it should be IMHO

If we ignore the disaster that was the first test, yesterdays match was excellent exhibition rugby by both sides (making allowances for the professional fouls and punch ups). The Lions played very well but NZ are simply on top form at the moment and played magnificently. :)

Does anyone think that any of the home nations would stand a better chance of beating NZ than the lions? personally i dont believe in all this "come together as one" crap, Imo Wales would beat the Kiwis the others would lose more heavily than the Lions.

I agree the come together cr@p doesnt work imo and not one northern hemisphere team would have a cats hell of a chances against the all blacks at the minute.
It was pretty sad to see them utterly humiliated.

it ha sworked in the past ie 1971, 1974, 1989, 1997. in fact most of the tours to OZ a success I think. To get four teams to gel as one is very difficult and to win in the hardest country of all against a team that is shaping up to be the best ever is daunting to say the least. The question that needs to be asked is whether the four home unions and England in particular can learn from this . Will the powers that be say enough is enough and put in place a structure that breeds succeess at national level.Personally i'm not optimistic as the game in England is dominated by clubs owned by peole who resist changes which they feel undermine them.Nothing I've seen in England in the last 18 months has given me any optmism. Wales have the best i chance because the heart of the game(UK) is mostly there anyway and now they have a proper structure in place things can only look up for them. In fact I may end up switching my allegiance to them

Theyve never been that successful,i think theyve only ever won one test series in NZ so it was always going to be a hard tour and i certainly wouldnt write off england yet, they easily beat the pumas in the churchill cup a few weeks ago and i thought some of the 3rd string players looked pretty good for future england picks :)

Yes they did and played well but you must remember the Pumas were missing most of their first team players and those that were there were mostly amateur.
Maybe I should be bit more optimistic Mmmmm!

What really makes my teeth grind is the fact that NZ has a population 1/20 th of ours and they totally dominate a sport with far fewer players than we have and one wjhioch was invenbted here as well.Grrrrrrrrrr! We should be right at the top as we should with football too.

Yep thats true about the pumas thats probably why our 3rd string team won very easily.
Talking about NZ, granted they do have a much smaller population than ours but rugby is a sort of religion for them, for us its just seems another sport but i do agree we should do MUCH better.
BTW we have been at the top of each sport at sometime or another but our biggest failing has always been consistency,we've just never been dominant for long periods, funny enough being dominant doesnt always help either, just look at NZ theyve been top of their game in rugby for many many years but one world cup win 20yrs ago is a pretty sorry show for such dominances IMO

Another thing that annoys me :thumbsdow The fact they are poaching players from countries with far fewer resources than they have. On top of that they'll do nothing to help those countries by ,for example, touring there.

Trolling usually means makeing a post purposefully that will get an emotionally reactive response .... for the amusement of the poster.
Its true meaning would be to haveing something that is most definately wrong in the post to infuriate people - for example historic innaccuracy done on purpose.

Alot of people get confused over definitions of words or phrases, especially those taken from sub-cultures derived off the net.

Yep it is a 'Lions' teams Southern Hemisphere style. They just get a chance to play with each a lot more. New Zealand by themselves would still be good but not the amazing team they are now.

Anyway they will be great at the next World Cup and then fall apart for no reason against someone like France. They do not know when to peak.

PS Why NZ never cite their players for foul behaviour amazes me...

I can assure you my post in here or for that matter the one I left on a NZ rugby board was NOT for my amusement.

Trolling basically means being disruptive for the sake of it whether in amusement or not.Whilst I will admit to being so in that rugby board it is not the case in here despite what EG might think.
