Just seen this at apples web site. $200 for the 1 gig model.

It may be smaller than an i-pod mini but it certainly doesnt have the same capacity. (4gb VS 1gb)

The mini is now $250 or less so I dont think the shuffle is good value for money.

The only good thing about it is its size and the fact that its a solid player ( no mving parts) therefore less likely to jump.

Good for joggers and sporty people but no good for those who want to have value for money and their music library on one machine.

they look rubish, the bargins other companies come up with today while apple still sell 1 gig players for $150. The most anoying thing would be that its forever on random. The thing i like most about my mp3 player is that there is such big freedom of choice. While the ipod series are good why should you pay more for less.

you can play a built playlist (or autofill) and then shuffle that if you want. Now what other player gives you a gig of flash ram for £99?

if it goes down to 100 bucks for the 1 gig model I may be tempted.
The biggest problem is not having a screen. Still it may be possible to get a remote with a display as many MD players have.

I think Apple will soon realise that not having a screen, or at least a small display is a big mistake

I suspect Apple are quite happy with it the way it is, as it doesn't compete directly with their other options.

Ye'd really want to read a bit more about a product before trying to rubbish it :lesson:

If you want a small iPod with a screen get the iPod Mini!!!!!!!
F**ckin hell lads wake up a bit!
