I cannot believe how addicted to these forums i have become after being a member here for only a few months. The situation has actually got so bad i have somehow convinced the wife to let me turn the living room into a home cinema, not quite to the extent of some of the other examples on here as it is still firstly a living room. We went out last week and ordered the new sofa's which will be delivered in 12 weeks so everything has to be completed by then !!. I will put some pics on tonight as it is now.

lol its the same with any forum really buddy, wether it be car modification, general diy, or whatever, its inspiring and it does compel you to do something different! This just happens to be a phenomenal forum with some incredible setups which makes it that much more appealing to have your own go! So good luck with it and I look forward to seeing the progress!

I second the OP's post... this place is so addictive!

I only started reading these forums in Feb and i'm already half way through converting the living room into a home cinema.

next up is the bedroom(s), then the bathroom, then the kitchen and anywhere else i can put a HTPC or TV ::D

You are partly to blame after spending nearly all day at work reading about your build and then rushing home in amazement to show the wife :smashin:

I have been addicted for years and I can blame this forum for probably costing me in excess of 50K in that time no kidding.

My latest project (cinema room extention) is costing me around 26k and thats not including electronics :D

At least you have only been on since January :)

Love the custom home cinema seating, with beverage holder! very impressive :D

This place is terrible for me spending money, and now even has me thinking of tearing apart a perfectly good front room! But with my limited DIY skills I have so far held off, but its always there in my mind.

    Good luck with the addiction!

I was wondering how long it would be before someone mentioned the custom home cinema seating (fully adjustable!), got them at asda for 99p each  after the wife decided to sell our couch 2 1/2 months before the new on was due. I must say they are probably the most uncomfortable seats i have ever sat on and would even consider taking them back (even at 99p )

Progress has been slow due partly to a bad back from the temporary seating.

Cleaned the room out a bit and fixed the LCD mount up

Its a cantilever one so i can still get behind the LCD to play with cables and stuff.

42" LCD mounted on the bracket

Speaker mounts and the start of the AV rack going in

Bit more done to the AV rack and it is slowly dawning on me how much work is ahead

This is going to be interesting! Soon you'll be in overdraft just like the rest of us... Oh well.. the plus side of it is that at least you can read your online bank statements on a big screen and here all clicks in surround sound. Got to be worth something.

I've been on the forums for some 3+ years now. Its almost second nature to browse the forums each day i log on to the world wide web. I've been doing so persistently despite at one stage having promised myself i'd resist. Beats looking at porn i guess? :(

Looking really good so far. Is the centre speaker mount supposed to be off-centre? :)

I think it just looks off-centre due to the angle of the photo and the TV and rack below being 500mm off the wall. Honest

    - My wife always refers to these as Readers' Wives chairs. Never understood why. Maybe it was something from her first marriage...

looks nice and i see the pboard is there ready! is the frame around the TV as flush as it looks? i would of left a bit of gap around the edge, just for ease of removal, even tho i know you have got it on a cantilever mount!

The LCD swings out really easily on the cantilever and leaves about 1/2 inch protruding when in position

The xbox, bt box and av receiver will be going in the cubby holes at the bottom, but i have'nt decided whether to put a BD35 BR player in or a new HTPC.
