Hi guys! I'm looking for a 50" or so set that will enable me to watch TV and play video games at the same time with Picture in Picture. Ideally, I'd like 1080p too, but I want to keep the cost down as low as poss.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Does anyone else use this?

Right, after looking at a few manuals and talking to friends, it looks like Samsung is my best bet for PiP. There's one I'm looking at, and it can do PiP from half the inputs to display the other half.

After a quick glance, that means Xbox or PC with the other consoles I own and TV in the inset. It can also do side-by side in some modes. That's good enough I guess.
*edit* Just thought, if I get the PC working as a PVR, that lets me side-by-side TV with everything

The model I'm looking at is the ... hmm the manual doesn't say, the model, but it's a series 5 manual. Ah, it's a PS50A558. So I'd assume that others in the PS50A5xx range might have similar features.

*edit* I checked the manual for another PS50A5xx, and so far the theory is holding. Not sure of the other differences so far.

I'd usually go straight to Richer Sounds, but they were unhelpful with my query, besides not seeming to have any TVs that fit the bill. Where else might be nice and cheap?

For my convenience, I'm gonna pop some model numbers here as I find them
PS50A656
PS50A5xx
PS50A750
PS50A756T

Does anyone know where to buy these cheap?

Hi s00p,

I was sorry to read that you’ve recently found the service received from one of our colleagues unhelpful.

We do put a lot of hard work into giving great customer service and it is therefore disappointing to learn of any occasion where we have fallen short of our usual high standard.

So that I can look into this matter further, and resolve to your satisfaction, please would you let me know which of our stores you have been in touch with? I shall then take this up with the store manager to ensure this situation does not occur again and do my best to help with any queries you might have.

However, the models that you mention are long since discontinued and therefore I'd recommend having a look at Samsungs website to view their current range.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Many thanks,

John Clayton
