    Heres the situation:

I have a Mid-High end gaming PC alreaddy. I want to attach a 1080p or higher resolution TV or Monitor with a 28" screen or more (it can be a bit under 28" just nothing drastically under). Problem Is i dont know the best arrangement.

    Intended use
near future: Gaming (pc/console), Watching Digital/Analog Cable, DVD quality movies
the not so near future: In addition to what i listed above, HDTV programing, and hd-dvd/Blu-Ray.

I geuss from here I will give you my pc specs.
    CPU: Intel e6400 Conroe @3ghz/core
    Motherboard: Abit AW9D-MAX
    Video Card: ATI Asus EAX1950PRO 256 mb GDDR3 PCI-e x16
    Memory: Patriot 2GB DDR2 800
Audio card: 7.1 HD Audio (with motherboard)
Optical: dvd player, cd burner/player (i cant remember brand name or specs but I think its irrelevant, I can check if need be)
Hard Drives: 1x WD Raptor 150GB 10,000RPM SATAI; 1x WD Caviar 320GB 7,200 RPM ultra IDE.
Speakers: None, At the moment (see Upgrades)

Future Upgrades (other than monitor/tv stuff) and reasoning
    Video card: 1x ATI Asus EAX1950PRO 256 mb GDDR3 PCI-e x16 : If I am playing games on a 1080P monitor/TV I am probably going to need more power
Speakers: 1x Logitech z-5500 : from what i have read These are good speakers and are what i plan on getting right now, if you have any imput here, plz.
Storage: ~1TB HDD space for movies or ~500GB /w a DVDBurner optical drive: I think im just guna get a bunch of harddrive space, cd/dvds are annoying and get stolen

Ok Now for the Fun stuff. There are two arraingements that I have thought about
    1) Get a tv, Concerns: Price, I need a cable tuner inside the tv, might be a bit too big, Must have about a 6ms response time. Positives: better quality, less strain on the computer.
    2) get a Computer Monitor and TV tuner card, Concerns: Tuner card must be PCI-e x1 interface (limited room in computer case with 2 video cards) Monitor will be smaller and probably made from a lower quality tft panel. Tuner card quality, Computer strain. Positives: Ability to record TV, Probably cheaper, higher flexability.

Other thoughts: no real need for an HDTV tuner yet because most HD service comes with one. Im also looking for somthing that will last.

Im looking for your imput on which setup you think would be better and which TV, or Monitor/TV card combo would be best. Price range is probably about $1000 (for the TV, or Monitor/TV card combo only)

As you're quoting prices in $ and talking cable I presume you're in the States. I can't help with the included cable bit because in the UK we use something called Freeview which comes via the roof aerial.
We have cable but to use it you need an external box.

A good place to start looking for a TV to match your PC is one of the Panasonic 26" units.
Have a look at this TV card: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1752

hi,as you are in america,i would advise you to visit a site which is american based, such as http://www.avsforum.com
there you would get more help, with US models, etc, than from a uk site.
    so,therefore,im closing this topic.
