About a month ago my CRT went to heaven never to be reincarnated. This morning I received a £450 voucher for anything in Currys, Dixons or PCWorld and a £85 voucher towards a new extended guarantee. Nice

I want to use them to buy a good 26" LCD TV for the bedroom. Connectivity wise it must have component inputs (for my xbox) and PC inputs. My only experience with LCDs was when I bought a Sonix 26" from Savacentre which I found crap response time and contrast had to be at 95% to see anything through component. Needless to say I returned it for a refund.

Now I can only buy from the stores above, I need your help choosing a TV. I can put a little cash towards a more expensive set but not much.

    :lease: help guys. Any suggestions

Tell you what...forget I asked.

I thought this forum was for serious people seeking or offering advice on the purchases they've already made or thinking about making.

    Obviously wrong on both counts.

    Phew chill man :(

You could try what I did and sell the vouchers to someone who intends to but something form currys like a vacuum cleaner, washing machine etc and use the money elsewhere

Calm down dear its only a commercial..... sorry mark didnt mean to upset you, I just cant help it when anyone mentions the dixons retail group ( or the chimpanzees tea party as I like to call them!)

Seriously though as has been said you could do a lot worse than the samsung R41/51 range, I have the 40" and its very good, the firmware is fixable now.

I didnt think having a joke was against forum rules? :nono:

So when you do spend your vouchers, take a banana and some peanuts with you, it may get you a discount.

Yeah, Samsung is great. I'm blown away with mine. Got the freeview one and the tuner is better than my Sony freeview box. Like the EPG etc. too. The picture is stunning once set up correctly.

I reckon you would get near to 450 for the vouchers on Ebay and then you could get a TV for a couple hundred less online.

Aye, the Samsung LE-26R41DB is top 26" TV. You would probably have to add additional funds, but it's worth it.

Yep, totally agree with Knobbs, really happy with my Sharp P50. Seems to be backed up by everyone who's got one on this forum. Superb PQ in standard definition and amazing value to boot!! (Although no VGA input as you require, PC has to go via HDMI)
