I'm not a big game player, but having an Xbox and a broadband connection thought I'd give this 'live' thing a bash.

I've got 2 'live' enabled games, PGR2 and Top Spin.
I've been playing PGR2 for a bit and I'm not too bad at that, but I'm totally (and I mean totally) useless at Top Spin... I just can't hit the ball at all!

However, whichever game I play, I get thrashed EVERY time!
I feel really old and I'm only 32!
I can cope with 'old' computer games that only use 3 controls (left, right, jump/fire), but I can't get to grips with these new games at all.

I'd like to vote for myself as the worst XBox live player on avforums, and probably in the country.
    Anyone fancy proving me wrong?

There were so many cheaters on 'Top Spin' that I flogged mine out of despair!

You can't be that bad, surely mate?!

Add me to your list if you want, I might let you beat me once or twice :smashin:

not useless, just means you have better things to do than play a lot of games, which is a good thing imo.

    :)

Don't count on it mate, I played a few games on Live, get my arse kicked every time
Anyway, if you want you can add me to your friends list and if I see you online I'll give you a game of something for a laugh, I only play casual and for fun :smashin:

I currently have Rallisport Challenge2, Links, oh and Rainbow Six3 which I haven't even got around to learning yet, (bit of a catch 22 that one, don't like it in single player and would be stupid for me to try and play Live without being a reasonablish player)

Stick with it, you will improve!

I've been spending time being cannon fodder for others on RS3. Getting better and tend to come mid rank at the end of a sharpshooter game now.

But some of the people out there are far too good! How they aim and fire so accurately and so quickly is beyond me!

It must be my creaky old fingers at the age of 33!

I've played with some of the guys from here and they gave me a few tips which helped. There's a thought for another thread, post tips for live games?

I've also come across someone in RS3 Airport 1 map who got on the roof. It was a survival game so I could see in observation mode. He climbed the ladder in the hanger, paused near the top, then carried on up (no ladder just in the air) to the roof and shot people from there!!

Broke my headset last night...bugger! Will get onto M$ for another...

    Jules,

I bought an Xbox last month and play PGR2. What a game! I'm about to dip my toe into the (allegedly) hostile waters of Live for the first time in the next few days (bit busy at the mo).

I can GUARANTEE that once I do, you will no longer feel you're the worst Live player.

Because I am utter, utter chog.

I think one problem is playing "random" live people, is that you'll end up playing 13 year old Americans, who (putting the annoyence of these kids aside for a moment) do nothing put play one game every waking hour of the day (when they're not sleeping, eating or downloading porn).

Whilst I love my games and have a very large collection to play, I prefer to flit in and out of playing a large number of games... that old saying "Jack of all trades, master of none".

I do tend to play with freinds only now on Live, because I know that although that some of them are way better, they all enter into the "spirit" of the game. i.e that winning is not everything, and it's all about having fun.

As an aside, I'm awful compared to decent guys at PGR2, but do you notice that racing a really slow car like Ford Focus is a really great leveller, little mistakes don't cost as much and there's a lot more overtaking and stuff

He was actually telling the truth :D His nick name is Pee Wee so TBH damage would only be psychological. Especially when he whispers in your ear :rotfl:
