What else in a similar vein should I seek?

I loved Animatrix, not just for the superb quality of the animation, the stunning 5.1 soundtrack, but also the way the whole thing sent me into a wild trip. It looks so much better with my 42inch plasma of course :D

Can anybody steer me towards my next sensory journey?

Check out 'The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury'.

Make sure you get the annimated feature and not the live action film 'The Chronicles of Riddick'.

I actually watched half off this last night, visuals are superb. Maybe PQ not sharp as latest offerings. Even the acting is less wooden than Ewans!.

Anyone know when Advent of Children (think thats the title) is coming out?, it is due out for PSP and dvd is it not?.

Saw FF-TSW one night late on one of the HBO movie channels. Didn't know what it was (it was already about 10 minutes in), so decided to watch it anyway as the first sequence I saw looked interesting.

If you can get past some of the rather patronising eco mumbo-jumbo, it's a good movie. It was good enough for me to acquire a 2nd hand copy anyway, and it's still in my collection (surviving the occasional purge of "I'll never watch that again-itis"). Visually it's excellent - a real demo of how far animation has come. Some of the detail in the characters, particularly in the close-ups, is superb.

I agree the textures used are very life like. I wish there were more movies like this.

Its was so costly to make £136mil, that after the film flopped, the studio had to close the animation branch.

Japan's Square Quits the Movie Business
    Los Angeles Times

The Japanese video-game company behind the animated movie "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" said Thursday that it is quitting the film business after its first and only effort proved to be a box-office flop.

There next effort is going straight to dvd and PSP - Advent of children
