I had HD fitted this week and of course got Sky plus with it. I have never bothered about it before, but i must say the Sky plus function of recording stuff is a great plus point. Much better than a dvd recorder.

Yes indeed
Even if you do not have SKY I would always recommend a twin tuner DVR for Freeview and certainly digital cable (NTL sooner rather than later now), it just makes TV viewing more pleasent and user friendly.
No longer being tied to the broadcasters schedules or sitting through adverts, click and record, no worries, well in theory
