it's a usb stick from a market in Hong Kong.

It is recognised by the computer (it's my friends and they are using windows 7)

However, it is labelled as rabbit TV, and comes preloaded with a. Rabbit .exe file to run some sort of Internet TV software.

I can't see any settings in control panel or file manager to format the damn thing

I'm taking it home tonight to try on my MacBook

    Any ideas?

Hi, I don`t know about a Macbook, but in Windows I would just do the following:
    1. Plug USB into a USB port on your computer.
    2. Go to 'my computer' and you will see the USB drive.
    3. Right click on it with a mouse and select 'format from the options, that`s it.

    Hope this helps.

    no options.

It's like the memory stick has been made to appear like a CD Rom drive :/

In mac, use disk utilities to format the drive. Applications > utilities > disk utilities.

It might have been made to be bootable if its loading a .exe file so it automatically boots into the installer.

    Mac disk should clear it.

The format option is greyed out. The stick is somehow read only.

Never mind, I've given them the stick back and told them not to buy from market stalls!
